Jacques Derrida & Nicanor Parra: Un ensayo sobre la poesía en tiempos de censura constituye una reflexión sobre uno de los estándares más importantes para la institución literaria durante la modernidad: la libertad de expresión. Este estudio promiscuo e interdisciplinar ya desde su título advierte –al comparar dos autores tan disimiles geográfica, conceptual, contextual y disciplinariamente– una demarcación de márgenes, donde lo que legitima en literatura pareciera verse inevitablemente sobrepasado por una pregunta sobre los límites mismos de la literatura o, sobre los mecanismos que la literatura activa en contextos límites. Es en este sentido que las condiciones de censura determinadas por el contexto político chileno –la dictadura militar– donde se desarrolló gran parte de la antipoesía de Nicanor Parra serían condiciones ideales para observar la autoinmunidad del lenguaje, y la relación entre literatura y democracia, conceptos y áreas claves para comprender el trabajo del filósofo francés Jacques Derrida. La libertad de expresión que defiende el arte y la literatura, busca levantar cualquier restricción a la creatividad, ratificar su función estética y su relación a la ficción. Sin embargo, en ningún caso esto significaría abandonar nuestro juicio individual para analizar cualquier contenido de un texto u obra –así como evaluar sus consecuencias– porque cuando el arte y la literatura ratifican la libertad de expresión lo hacen siempre proveyendo y atendiendo la disposición crítica y política que implica participar responsablemente en esta esfera.
