Outre les développements consacrés à ces aspects, sont également abordés la crise que traversent plusieurs secteurs agricoles à la suite notamment de la baisse des prix des produits agricoles, les actions entreprises par l'Union pour y remédier, tout comme le débat sur la PAC de l'Après-2020, d'ores et déjà ouvert. Cet ouvrage offre une vision à la fois complète et renouvelée de cette politique, qui est mise en perspective de ses origines à nos jours et dont les fondements juridiques ainsi que les principaux mécanismes sont exposés avec clarté et rigueur. L'auteur démontre ainsi que la PAC n'est plus strictement sectorielle : elle est devenue une politique présentant de nombreuses interférences avec les autres politiques de l'Union européenne. Son champ d'intervention s'est considérablement élargi, au point d'en faire une véritable" politique carrefour".
