La Renta Básica es un nuevo derecho de ciudadanía, que aparece en un momento de "crisis estructural" del capitalismo. En un momento en que los derechos sociales y económicos están retrocediendo y/o desapareciendo. Se trata de fundamentar el "nuevo derecho" desde dos perspectivas filosóficas: 1) desde el liberalismo solidario de Van Parijs que a su vez recoge, de manera crítica, la Teoría de Justicia del liberalismo político de Rawls, fundamentalmente de su Principio de la Diferencia; 2) Desde el republicanismo de Daniel Raventós, que parte de la concepción de la libertad como no- dominación que explicita que alguien es libre "si no depende de nadie" para existir. Concepción de la libertad que proviene del Republicanismo contemporáneo (Q. Skinner, P. Pettit). Un nuevo derecho que sólo es posible conseguir plenamente desde abajo, desde la sociedad civil. En consecuencia, sólo de manera democrática lo que conlleva la participación y movilización desde la sociedad; pero para esto es preciso un ciudadanía activa, participativa y responsable

Spain After the Indignados/15M Movement explores how the aftershocks of the 2007 Great Recession restructured Spain’s political sphere and political imaginary.
