"La storia di Marinella" si svolge tutta in giorno, tutta a Longarone. Comincia quando Marinella si sveglia e finisce quando si addormenta, nel suo letto. Da sempre ha due amiche e da questa estate anche un amico, Marco, un bambino dai capelli a cespuglio che viene da Casso e che pare ce l’abbia col mondo intero...anche se è così dolce sotto sotto Il 9 ottobre 1963 è un giorno di risse, marmellate mancate, corse e risate. Impossibile non stare dietro Marinella, ascoltare i suoi pensieri ad alta voce e affezionarsi a lei. Fino alle 22.39, che è l’ora in cui l’orologio del municipio di Longarone si ferma. L’ora in cui si sono fermati tutti gli orologi ritrovati nel fango.

Dopo mille difficoltà, riusciranno a incontrarsi a Beirut, in Libano, dove si sposeranno, partendo subito per Roma per trascorrere la “luna di miele”. Nella città eterna, però, qualcosa non gira per il verso giusto, trascinandoli in un’odissea disseminata di delusioni, ma anche di aiuti insperati, e soprattutto di tanta forza di volontà. Una peregrinazione che si dipanerà per mesi prima che si apra uno spiraglio, e che coinvolgerà il mondo politico e diplomatico, i media, strutture ospedaliere, associazioni di volontariato e numerosi privati. Una storia vera, fatta di speranza e tanta solidarietà. Marinella Fiaschi, nata nel 1954 a Roma, lavora nel campo dell’informatica e fin da giovanissima si è distinta nel volontariato. Ha prestato la sua opera con l’Avo (Associazione Volontari Ospedalieri) dedicandosi ai bambini ospedalizzati. È membro dell’associazione Scuola di Pace, con la quale è intervenuta fra l’altro all’Aquila e ad Amatrice dopo i terremoti, sempre occupandosi di bambini, e dell’associazione Ridere per vivere, presso la quale ha frequentato un corso per clown. Il suo slogan: «Volontari si nasce, non si diventa». Maurizio Quilici, nato nel 1946 a Lido di Camaiore (Lucca), si è laureato alla Sapienza di Roma in Giurisprudenza con una tesi in Medicina criminologica e psichiatria forense. Nella stessa Università ha conseguito un Master in Diritto Minorile, perfezionandosi quindi in Mediazione Familiare presso la Pontificia Facoltà di Scienze dell’Educazione. Giornalista professionista, è stato caporedattore dell’Agenzia Ansa. Per alcuni anni ha collaborato con la Società italiana di psicologia. Nel 1988 ha fondato l’Isp, Istituto di studi sulla paternità, di cui è presidente. È autore di numerosi articoli e saggi sulla paternità, fra i quali Il padre ombra (Giardini, 1988), per il quale ha ricevuto un Premio della Cultura dalla Presidenza del Consiglio, Onora il padre e la madre (Bompiani, 2001), Storia della paternità (Fazi, 2010), Manuale del papà separato (Datanews, 2012), Grandi uomini, piccoli padri (Fazi, 2015).

The Singer-Songwriter in Europe is the first book to explore and compare the multifaceted discourses and practices of this figure within and across linguistic spaces in Europe and in dialogue with spaces beyond continental borders. The concept of the singer-songwriter is significant and much-debated for a variety of reasons. Many such musicians possess large and zealous followings, their output often esteemed politically and usually held up as the nearest popular music gets to high art, such facets often yielding sizeable economic benefits. Yet this figure, per se, has been the object of scant critical discussion, with individual practitioners celebrated for their isolated achievements instead. In response to this lack of critical knowledge, this volume identifies and interrogates the musical, linguistic, social and ideological elements that configure the singer-songwriter and its various equivalents in Europe, such as the French auteur-compositeur-interprète and the Italian cantautore, since the late 1940s. Particular attention is paid to the emergence of this figure in the post-war period, how and why its contours have changed over time and space subsequently, cross-cultural influences, and the transformative agency of this figure as regards party and identity politics in lyrics and music, often by means of individual case studies. The book's polycentric approach endeavours to redress the hitherto Anglophone bias in scholarship on the singer-songwriter in the English-speaking world, drawing on the knowledge of scholars from across Europe and from a variety of academic disciplines, including modern language studies, musicology, sociology, literary studies and history.
