Susanna è una madre e una nonna felice. Ha sessantadue anni e insieme al marito Luigi conduce una vita serena, sostenuta da oltre quarant’anni da un percorso di fede cristiana. Mai avrebbe potuto immaginare di trovarsi ad affrontare da un giorno all’altro quel virus di cui tutti parlano dai primi mesi del 2020. Al ritorno da una vacanza in montagna, Susanna inizia ad accusare i primi sintomi. Non passa molto tempo che le sue condizioni si aggravano fino a quando viene ricoverata in ospedale. Lì il peggioramento è repentino, il covid è una brutta malattia e Susanna viene intubata. Finisce in quel limbo della terapia intensiva dove chi vi entra non sa se ne potrà mai uscire vivo. Susanna però è tra coloro che ce la fanno. La tempesta sedata racconta in prima persona le giornate più dure in ospedale, il percorso di isolamento, la guarigione, i tanti messaggi di solidarietà e di vicinanza che ha ricevuto da parte di parenti, amici e di quella folta comunità spirituale di cui fa parte da numerosi anni. Le preghiere, i brani del Vangelo, le parole dolci e profonde accompagnano questo testo che vuole essere una testimonianza forte di chi ha attraversato un’esperienza dolorosa oggi comune a molti e che è riuscito a rialzarsi, grazie anche alla forza della fede. Susanna Testa Antoniol è nata a Milano nel 1957. È sposata con Luigi, madre di tre figli e nonna di sei nipoti. Ex insegnante elementare e assistente sociale, da 44 anni frequenta un movimento molto attivo nella Chiesa all’interno del quale svolge ruoli di pastoralità e di evangelizzazione. Per 14 anni insieme al marito ha condotto a Radio Mater due trasmissioni riguardanti la famiglia: “Famiglie che parlano ad altre famiglie” e “La casa sulla roccia”. Nel 2020 ha aperto sulla pagina Facebook RnS Famiglie una rubrica dal titolo “Vita da nonni”. La tempesta sedata nasce da un’esigenza di rielaborare un vissuto drammatico dopo aver attraversato l’esperienza estrema del Covid.
