Da qui prende le mosse la raccolta di scritti La Voce del Maestro, pubblicata postuma nel 1963. Gibran affronta in quest’opera di ampio respiro tematiche quali “Amore ed equità”, “Ragione e Conoscenza”, “Natura e Uomo”: con il suo messaggio pregnante e visionario, ha restituito a un vastissimo pubblico il valore della spiritualità, messa in crisi nell’era contemporanea dal diffondersi di concezioni scettiche o relativistiche. Kahlil Gibran nacque nel 1883 a Bisharri, nel Libano settentrionale, e morì nel 1931 a New York. Fu poeta, filosofo, pittore. La sua fama si diffuse ben al di là del vicino Oriente: le sue poesie furono tradotte in più di venti lingue e le sue opere furono esposte nelle più importanti gallerie di tutto il mondo. Trascorse gli ultimi vent’anni di vita in America, dove ben presto divenne un maestro e un mito per i milioni di giovani che ne leggevano gli scritti. I suoi libri, considerati un vero “breviario mistico”, continuano a entusiasmare un vasto pubblico, alimentando una sorta di “culto” che non accenna a spegnersi.
