Fulbright Labyrinths written by Virginia Hall-Milhouse and has been published by Trafford Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-11-28 with Self-Help categories.

In this provocative work, Virginia Milhouse demonstrates how autoethnography combines creative and analytical practices to help bring to consciousness some complex social and political agendas hidden in narratorial writings. It demonstrates how an arts-based qualitative research method (narrative inquiry) can be fused with a scientific-based quantitative method (DMIS-IDI) and compliment, support and or correct each other. It also demonstrates how "writing as a method of inquiry" can be a viable way for researchers to learn about themselves and their research, as well as features standards for evaluating creatively and analytically constructed text. Further, the author's examination of the aesthetics of "inner-readiness" and "in-betweeness" will be very helpful to people doing this kind of self-reflexive fieldwork. The reader will also appreciate this author's recognition of the importance of combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies--something not many writers can do with great success. Also, this book will be a real contribution to sojourners and others traveling or living abroad. The work is very smart; and, is, beautifully and clearly written. The 'labyrinth' quote at the beginning of her work is very fitting and certainly promises to illustrate those words.

Labyrinths is the celebrated collection of Christopher Okigbo's most renowned poems which cemented his reputation as one of Nigeria's greatest poets. In this powerful collection, Okigbo's renowned talent is showcased in vivid clarity as each poem draws the reader into an arresting world of myth and contemplation – a maze of spiritual homecomings, divine dreams, and the long-drums of the dead. Including Paths of Thunder, his final and most famous sequence of poems that prophesised a nation overcome by war. Written shortly before he was killed in the Nigerian-Biafran War, Okigbo predicted his own death and left behind a legacy as a leading figure of postcolonial poetry. 'The finest Nigerian poet of his generation [and] one of the most remarkable anywhere in our time. Chinua Achebe 'There are poets who have a magical presence in the literature of their lands... Christopher Okigbo is one such poet.' Ben Okri 'One of the genuine renaissance people of our generation.' Wole Soyinka

Difference And Community written by and has been published by BRILL this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-03-07 with Literary Criticism categories.

This volume brings together essays which suggest that the relationship between Canada and Europe is a two-way process, as historically the traffic between them has been: either may have something to offer the other. Europe too acknowledges situations today in which difference and community are hard terms to reconcile. Difference refers to gender, sexuality, race, nationality, or language. Community is the collective understanding which must continually be renegotiated and reconstructed among these factors. The Canadian-European connection is one in which it seems especially appropriate to explore such circumstances. The topics covered include pioneer women's writing, transcultural women's fiction, canonical taxonomy of the contemporary novel, the city poem in Confederate Canada, poetry of the Great War, various ethno-cultural perspectives (Jewish, South Asian, Italian; Native reappropriations; Quebec cinema), literature and the media, and small-press publishing. Some of the authors treated: Sandra Birdsell, Nicole Brossard, Jack Hodgins, Henry Kreisel, Robert Kroetsch, Janice Kulyk Keefer, Archibald Lampman, Malcolm Lowry, Lesley Lum, Daphne Marlatt, Susanna Moodie, Bharati Mukherjee, Alice Munro, Frank Paci, and Susan Swan.
