Unwiderstehlich zieht es ihn zu den anderen Kängurus, die ihn aber aufgrund seiner Nähe zu den Menschen nicht aufnehmen wollen. Und in der Wildnis muß Länzelot, der wohlbehütet auf der Farm aufgewachsen ist, viele gefährliche Abenteuer bestehen. Bei einem dieser Abenteuer wird Länzelots Arm so schwer verletzt, dass er abgenommen werden muß. Die Dinge stehen schlecht für den kleinen Länzelot. Wird er es schaffen, in der Wildnis zu bestehen, damit ihn die anderen Kängurus aufnehmen? Zum Glück für ihn naht Hilfe: Rosblatt, die Nichte des Anführers der Känguru-Meute, ist neugierig, woher dieses sonderbare, einarmige Känguru kommt. Und endlich hat Länzelot einen Freund. Dieses Buch erzählt eine lustige, abenteuerliche, aber auch ernsthafte Geschichte über Einsamkeit, Zusammengehörigkeit, die australische Wildnis und besonders darüber, wie unschätzbar wichtig echte Freunde sind.
