Las cosas pueden ser diferentes. Se pueden cambiar, siempre que exista la voluntad, también individual, de hacerlo. Pequeños cambios como negarse a utilizar el coche oficial y desplazarse con su escolta en metro, ante los atónitos ojos de sus compañeros de judicatura, o proponer a los miembros del Gobierno Vasco que utilicen en Vitoria la bicicleta, medio con el que ella se mueve también en las ciudades. Una mujer valiente y comprometida con la justicia social, abogada desde los años 60 (época en que las mujeres en España eran, social y legalmente apenas un objeto), que fundó los primeros despachos laboralistas, que tanto hicieron en defensa de los trabajadores y contra la dictadura franquista, que no se amedrentó cuando un atentado de extrema derecha acabó con la vida de varios de sus compañeros y amigos, y ha continuado defendiendo que la Justicia sea un servicio público de la ciudadanía. En este libro denuncia también, con multitud de ejemplos y anécdotas no exentas de humor, la inoperancia y corrupción de políticos e instituciones (también en la Justicia), la violencia de género o la injusticia con que la sociedad trata a sus mayores. Un punto de vista, en definitiva, de una mujer que rompe todos los esquemas, que nos habla con voz propia y clara de los problemas del mundo en que vivimos y nos insufla optimismo para cambiarlo.
