Las formas del fuego es el último libro de poemas en prosa de José Antonio Ramos Sucre (Cumaná, 9 de junio de 1890 - Ginebra, Suiza, 13 de junio de 1930). Este libro lo publicó el poeta en 1929, un año antes de su muerte y mientras tenía dificultades para concentrarse debido a un recurrente insomnio. En 1988, la obra de Ramos Sucre fue difundida en España gracias a la publicación de una edición de "Las Formas del Fuego"; este libro fue editado por la Editorial Siruela con prólogo de Salvador Garmendia, escritor venezolano miembro fundador del movimiento artístico venezolano El Techo de la Ballena. A pesar de tener el mismo nombre del libro de Ramos Sucre de 1929, esta publicación contine poemas de sus otros libros. Una traducción al portugués de la obra de Ramos Sucre, con prólogo del poeta venezolano Eugenio Montejo, fue publicada en 1992 bajo el título As formas do fogo. Esta es la ultima parte de la Trilogía de Obras Completas de José Antonio Ramos Sucre publicada por la Editorial la Cueva del Elefante que ha puesto a disposición del lector internacional toda la obra del máximo exponente de la poesía en prosa en Venezuela, en el siglo XX.

De libro en libro, a lo largo de una producción poética de medio siglo, el poeta argentino Juan Gelman (1930-), ganador del Premio Cervantes 2007 y uno de los mayores poetas hispanoamericanos vivos, explora nuevas vías formales para dar cuenta de su experiencia personal e histórica, de su recreación incesante de la tradición literaria y cultural. Más fundamentalmente aún, su poesía « desueña lo perdido y la muerte/canta en los alrededores del amor » (Incompletamente). Pero ¿de qué pérdida se hace eco el poema? ¿Puede el poema mismo convertirse en un espacio de acogida de « aquello amado ido » (ibid.)? Este libro enfrenta estas preguntas y otras más a lo largo de una lectura crítica de la extensa obra poética del autor argentino. El análisis de más de veinte poemarios se enfoca desde la problemática central del duelo, en su doble acepción de lucha y luto.
