La formación continuada del profesorado es un factor clave en la integración educativa de las TIC y un reto escolar en la era digital. No es suficiente que los docentes se formen en nuevas tecnologías, sino que los programas de desarrollo profesional sean acordes con el conocimiento teórico y contrastado en este campo. Este artículo forma parte de una investigación más amplia sobre la formación continuada del profesorado de la educación obligatoria en el contexto español y, en concreto, sobre la presencia y el tratamiento prestado en la misma a los recursos y competencias digitales. Se ofrece un marco teórico basado en aportaciones relevantes y actualizadas y se formulan los objetivos perseguidos: estudiar y valor las TIC en las políticas oficiales de formación continuada, el modelo de profesorado subyacente y el grado en que se propician proyectos de renovación pedagógica reflexiva, colegiada y sostenida por los centros y por la administración. El enfoque metodológico adoptado es de corte interpretativo y recurre a estudios de campo y de casos utilizando instrumentos combinados: cuestionarios, análisis documental, entrevistas y observaciones de aulas. El análisis de los datos cualitativos y cuantitativos obtenidos en Centros de Profesores y centros escolares de varias Comunidades Autónomas, arrojan valoraciones dispares, muchas de ellas críticas respecto a las relaciones de las TIC con los contenidos, metodologías, aprendizajes docentes y su incidencia en la enseñanza-aprendizaje y el alumnado. De ello se derivan propuestas que reclaman una mejora de la formación continuada orientada a la integración educativa de las TIC dentro de una reconstrucción profunda del currículo y de la renovación pedagógica, de las condiciones y los apoyos propicios a la colaboración docente en proyectos de centro. Se reclaman, asimismo, políticas públicas y sistémicas, coherentes y comprometidas con una integración justa y equitativa de lo digital en la educación.

El desarrollo de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) se da a un ritmo elevado, por lo que su integración en la función docente se vuelve compleja. Muchos docentes suelen encontrarse desorientados a la hora de manejarse en entornos mediados por las TIC. Como consecuencia, la formación continua del profesorado se está volviendo un requisito indispensable motivado por el contexto cultural y social y por el avance tecnológico. La presente investigación ha pretendido, en primer lugar, valorar el nivel de integración de las TIC por parte del profesorado universitario. En segundo lugar, determinar qué factores han tenido más peso en la transferencia de las formaciones en TIC al puesto de trabajo. Por último, hemos establecido una serie de recomendaciones para facilitar la transferencia de las formaciones recibidas al puesto de trabajo. El estudio se enmarca en los métodos mixtos de investigación, al utilizar en el diseño técnicas propias de la aproximación cualitativa y cuantitativa. Se ha contemplado la triangulación de técnicas y de agentes. Por un lado, se administró un cuestionario a 155 profesores y profesoras que habían participado en formaciones en TIC aplicadas a la función docente. Por otro lado, se entrevistó a 19 expertos y formadores en el área de las TIC aplicadas a la función docente. Los resultados apuntan a que el profesorado utiliza las TIC en su quehacer docente, pero tienen dificultades para generar escenarios en los que la tecnología, la disciplina y la pedagogía estén plenamente integradas (modelo TPACK). Se ha comprobado que la capacidad del profesorado a la hora de integrar estos tres elementos determina la puesta en práctica de lo aprendido en un contexto formativo en TIC. Poseer una sólida base pedagógica también es pronóstico de que utilicen las TIC en su función docente al abandonar el contexto formativo. Del mismo modo, se ha observado que el uso del contexto de trabajo como elemento clave en el diseño y desarrollo de la acción formativa influye en la posterior transferencia de la formación. Este diseño contempla la adecuación de los objetivos, los formadores, la metodología y los contenidos al contexto real del puesto de trabajo del participante. También supone contemplar el desarrollo de un producto final relacionado con la docencia en el contexto formativo y que haya un seguimiento al finalizar la formación. Por último, se establece la necesidad de incorporar en las formaciones conexiones entre la disciplina del participante y las estrategias pedagógicas en entornos TIC.

How is information and communication technology (ICT) changing teaching and learning practices in secondary schools worldwide in the 21st century? This is the central question addressed by researchers involved in the series of surveys comprising the Second Information Technology in EducationStudy (SITES ). The question is a multifaceted one, with each facet raising additionalq uestions relating to both theory and practice. A style is any pattern we see in a person's way of accomplishing a particular type of task. The "task" of interest in the present context is education-learning and remembering in school and transferring what is learned to the world outside of school. Teachers are expressing some sort of awareness of style when they observe a particular action taken by a particular student and then say something like: "This doesn't surprise me! That's just the way he is. " Observation of a single action cannot reveal a style. One's impres sion of a person's style is abstracted from multiple experiences of the person under similar circumstances. In education, if we understand the styles of individual students, we can often anticipate their perceptions and subsequent behaviors, anticipate their misunderstandings, take ad vantage of their strengths, and avoid (or correct) their weaknesses. These are some of the goals of the present text. In the first chapter, I present an overview of the terminology and research methods used by various authors of the text. Although they differ a bit with regard to meanings ascribed to certain terms or with regard to conclusions drawn from certain types of data, there is none theless considerable agreement, especially when one realizes that they represent three different continents and five different nationalities.
