Yet after the news came on her 43rd birthday, medical appointments turned into hours of surgery, casual conversations disappeared, and even her children started asking questions. In recovery rooms, as the clock slowly ticks, Ros Ben-Moshe starts writing. Through ups and downs, she tells it all, in an honest account of fighting the Big C, or should we say the small c? Brimming with humour, insight and sensitivity, this series of journals, written at the time, explores how we talk about and view illness, and how changing your mindset can do wonders on the journey to health. Through explanations of mindful healing techniques and the power of laughter, Laughing at cancer will inspire you to take a deep breath and start laughing.

An inspiring and witty memoir by a woman battling cancer—with laughter. Fran Di Giacomo made it through one case of cancer at forty—then got hit with a worse case in her fifties. Tired of the somber, weepy books she kept getting from well-meaning friends, she stumbled upon a book that made her laugh out loud—and realized that was what she’d been missing. Laughter felt good—and that was how she wanted to feel. Inspired, she wrote this unique memoir, an unsentimental, sharply funny take on her experience—including her favorite techniques for shamelessly exploiting the chemo lifestyle. She reveals the way that indulging her sense of humor not only kept her sane during the hardest moments, but also allowed her to continue her successful career as an artist, even through thirteen hospitalizations, ten surgeries, and constant chemotherapy. Her book is terrifically entertaining—as her oncologist warns in the foreword, you should avoid reading it in the immediate postoperative period due to the risk of popping a suture. It can also help other cancer patients, or anyone dealing with hardship, to cultivate a zesty enthusiasm for life and empower themselves to keep fighting.

With a mere 5% chance of recovery from cancer, Eyal Eltawil's struggle to survive includes the use of comedy. Diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the age of 31 and with metastases in his body, Eyal Eltawil was given a mere 5% chance of recovery. Eyal decided to look at his cancer from a humoristic point of view and find laughter in the process. The topic of his life's story was not one he chose, but he did make the choice to create "stand-up comedy" while he struggled to survive. Using a humoristic perspective during the entire process, he turned the C word (Cancer) into one relating to Comedy. This, was Eyal's way of dealing with his illness and enabling recovery. 3 years after his full recovery, he was told that there was a fair chance the cancer had returned. Despite the harsh news, and while waiting anxiously for the lab results, he decided to laugh again and relates his experience in a book. The stand-up comedy kept working and the recovery was there to stay!

I Have No Time For Cancer written by Kathy Moore and has been published by Xlibris Corporation this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-29 with Self-Help categories.

This book describes the 1 year+ adventure of the most interesting or humorous happenings as a single working mom with breast cancer. My objective when writing was to appeal to other cancer patients and their families and to hopefully bring them entertainment at the expense of my (temporary) bad luck through the process. _________________ I hope this book brings smiles and some chuckles to those of you out there fighting cancer. Laughter was definitely something I wanted and needed while going through it myself. Boredom and discomfort are not a good combination, and those of you going through treatments know what I mean. Try and make the best of your situation. Everyone’s environment is different. As for myself, I’m a single mother. On top of that, any family members I have are a couple of states away. But, I have been blessed to have a great church family that prayed for me and some members that also offered practical help. So, don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Also, make sure you’re eating healthy (natural/organic foods preferably), hydrating yourself...and, of course, laughing whenever possible. Find humor in whatever you can...sitcoms, comedy movies, and enjoyable people to be around. Laughter IS the best medicine. Perhaps you will at least find my bad luck entertaining.

There are so many things that we do not have control over, things that we would not ever choose: cancer, loosing a spouse, tragic accidents. But we can choose how we will handle these things. Joy is a choice that anyone can make but not everyone knows how. Facing cancer, becoming a widow, loosing the future as the author saw it made her recognize that she had to choose a way to deal with the present.
