Deux se partagent le monde moderne : les alphabétiques, qui sont multiples, et la chinoise, qui est unitaire et pratiquée par plus d'un milliard d'êtres humains. Cette écriture « différente » fascine depuis toujours les Occidentaux, au point que la question de la langue est souvent reléguée au second plan.
