Rawls Il diritto dei popoli formula una serie di critiche che avviano uno scambio epistolare tra i due. Pubblicata soltanto nel 2003 presso la Revue de philosophie économique, tale corrispondenza risulta oggi quanto mai attuale specialmente alla luce della crisi finanziaria e del suo impatto sui paesi dell'Ue. Sebbene il testo inglese originale sia liberamente disponibile sul web, le Tre Lettere sul Diritto dei Popoli e l'Unione Europea sono state per la prima volta qui tradotte e presentate al lettore italiano.In May, 1998 P. Van Parijs, the Belgian philosopher and professor of social and economic ethics at the University of Louvain, after the reading of the manuscript of J. Rawls "The Law of Peoples", formulates a number of criticisms leading to a three-letters exchange. Published only in 2003 by the Revue de Philosophie Economique, such correspondence is today very relevant in particular with reference to the present financial crisis and its impact on the EU countries. While freely available on the web in its original English version, the Three Letters on the Law of Peoples and the European Union have been here for the first time translated and presented to the Italian readers.
