The Leaf Master is mysterious and magical - and Darren's new friend. He lives in an enchanted land on the other side of the great big hedge, where Darren goes with Plonk, the talking bird. But there are enemies in the Leaf Master's magic land - the dreaded Vacpires, and their evil master, Wayne Insane. Who will help the Leaf Master in his fight for survival? Darren and Plonk Join them in their great adventure. Jamie Carruthers has lived all his life in Northumberland, England, not far from Hadrian's Wall, surrounded by countryside, castles, and many local legends. Having always been interested in writing and illustration, as well as historical fact and fiction, the creation of The Leaf Master was a natural progression for the author, who was twenty at the time of writing the book, after completing a media course in 1999 and moving from one job to the next, unfulfilled. The Leaf Master represents the culmination of Jamie Carruthers' creative endeavours.

Leaf Cell and Hierarchical Compaction Techniques presents novel algorithms developed for the compaction of large layouts. These algorithms have been implemented as part of a system that has been used on many industrial designs. The focus of Leaf Cell and Hierarchical Compaction Techniques is three-fold. First, new ideas for compaction of leaf cells are presented. These cells can range from small transistor-level layouts to very large layouts generated by automatic Place and Route tools. Second, new approaches for hierarchical pitchmatching compaction are described and the concept of a Minimum Design is introduced. The system for hierarchical compaction is built on top of the leaf cell compaction engine and uses the algorithms implemented for leaf cell compaction in a modular fashion. Third, a new representation for designs called Virtual Interface, which allows for efficient topological specification and representation of hierarchical layouts, is outlined. The Virtual Interface representation binds all of the algorithms and their implementations for leaf and hierarchical compaction into an intuitive and easy-to-use system. From the Foreword: `...In this book, the authors provide a comprehensive approach to compaction based on carefully conceived abstractions. They describe the design of algorithms that provide true hierarchical compaction based on linear programming, but cut down the complexity of the computations through introduction of innovative representations that capture the provably minimum amount of required information needed for correct compaction. In most compaction algorithms, the complexity goes up with the number of design objects, but in this approach, complexity is due to the irregularity of the design, and hence is often tractable for most designs which incorporate substantial regularity. Here the reader will find an elegant treatment of the many challenges of compaction, and a clear conceptual focus that provides a unified approach to all aspects of the compaction task...' Before the printing press introduced the notion of mass production to the Renaissance world, the written word was one of spiritual significance and unfathomable mystique. Sacred texts predominated and books were acceptable means of procuring religious thought. As harbinger of the book, the Illuminated Manuscript maintains a well-respected place in literary and artistic history, as well as in the record of human progress and creativity. Museograph's Illuminated Manuscripts gives rare scholarly attention to these Judeo-Christian, Islamic, and secular masterpieces. From the Byzantine Period to the Renaissance, it outlines the evolution of this textual art form. Religious themes that were common to illuminated texts for over one thousand years became progressively outnumbered as literacy spread beyond the religious community. Books were slowly evolving from status symbols to learning tools. The decorative content of illuminations also advanced through history's course. Virtually without border in the Byzantine Period, manuscripts resonated and simplicity befitting religious ceremonies and houses of worship. By the Romanesque Period, the appearance of the Bestiary indicated that a shift was on the horizon. The Winchester border, with its heavy frame and ornate gold bars, was wild with foliage and whimsical in its combination of human and bestial figures. Illuminated design gone organic! Illuminated Manuscripts is a sensory treasure of image and word. Subjects within this monograph embody a rich interdisciplinary history and continue to grow alongside man as his understanding of what is beautiful deepens and his ability to express it is actualized.

Analysis And Design Of Machine Elements written by Vijay Kumar Jadon and has been published by I. K. International Pvt Ltd this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-02 with Machine design categories.

The book covers fundamental concepts, description, terminology, force analysis and methods of analysis and design. The emphasis in treating the machine elements is on methods and procedures that give the student competence in applying these to mechanical components in general. The book offers the students to learn to use the best available scientific understanding together with empirical information, good judgement, and often a degree of ingenuity, in order to produce the best product. Few unique articles e.g., chain failure modes, lubrication of chain drive, timing belt pulleys, rope lay selection, wire rope manufacturing methods, effect of sheave size etc., are included. Friction materials are discussed in detail for both wet and dry running with the relevant charts used in industry. Design of journal bearing is dealt exhaustively. Salient Features: " Compatible with the Machine Design Data Book (same author and publisher). " Thorough treatment of the requisite engineering mechanics topics. " Balance between analysis and design. " Emphasis on the materials, properties and analysis of the machine element. " Material, factor of safety and manufacturing method are given for each machine element. " Design steps are given for all important machine elements. " The example design problems and solution techniques are spelled out in detail. " Objective type, short answer and review problems are given at the end of each chapter. " All the illustrations are done with the help of suitable diagrams. " As per Indian Standards.
