In dieser Arbeit geht es um die Frage der sozialpädagogischen Betreuung von intelligenzgeminderten Menschen mit Borderline-Persönlichkeitsstörung. Zunächst werden einige Grundlagen betrachtet: Wie wird geistige Behinderung definiert, nach welchen Systemen wird diagnostiziert und wie werden psychische Störungen bei geistig behinderten Personen umrissen? Was versteht man unter einer Borderline-Persönlichkeits-Störung? Ein weiterer Punkt behandelt sozialarbeiterische Prinzipien und pädagogische Konzepte in der Arbeit mit intelligenzgeminderten psychisch kranken Menschen. Er stellt dar, welches Menschenbild der Arbeit zugrunde liegt und beschreibt den Alltag in einer Wohngruppe. Weiterhin werden sozialpädagogische Methoden und Interventionsmöglichkeiten erklärt. Auch wird beschrieben, wie mit Krisen umgegangen werden kann und welche Anforderungen an die Mitarbeiter in einer Wohngruppe gestellt werden. Das Fazit befasst sich schließlich mit den zu ziehenden Schlussfolgerungen und mit der Frage, inwieweit die sozialpädagogische Betreuung von geistig behinderten Menschen sie in ihrer Weiterentwicklung zu fördern vermag sowie mit den Anforderungen an Staat und Gesellschaft.

Transference-Focused Psychotherapy for Borderline Personality Disorder: A Clinical Guide presents a model of borderline personality disorder (BPD) and its treatment that is based on contemporary psychoanalytic object relations theory as developed by the leading thinker in the field, Otto Kernberg, M.D., who is also one of the authors of this insightful manual.
