Allerdings lässt sich kein eindeutiger Lernvorteil eines Mediums für das Selbstlernen feststellen, obwohl die Lernenden den Eindruck hatten, dass sie effektiver mit dem Buch lernen würden. Außerdem werden Bilder in den Lernmaterialien nur bedingt betrachtet. Der Band diskutiert diese Ergebnisse und trägt damit zu einem besseren Verständnis des Lernendenverhaltens bei, wovon die Entwicklung lernförderlicher Materialien für das außerschulische Selbstlernen profitieren kann.
