Leggende Metropolitane è un libro che nasce dalla volontà di condividere un percorso di oltre venti anni di ricerche, analisi e approfondimenti da parte dell’autore sul tema del folklore contemporaneo e dell’immaginario collettivo. Il libro parte con il cercare di analizzare il fenomeno della “leggenda metropolitana”, del rumor, come forma narrativa a sé stante, con il punto di vista della psicologia sociale e con approccio documentaristico. Il volume racconta, approfondisce e in molti casi spiega oltre cento storie, organizzate per temi. Leggende legate alla sfera del sesso, storie legate al mondo degli animali, racconti horror, macabre scoperte, rapimenti misteriosi, scherzi, truffe e divertenti equivoci. Un capitolo speciale è dedicato alle Leggende universitarie, un vero e proprio microcosmo di questo affascinante mondo, così come alle storie su prodotti di largo consumo, fino ad arrivare al mondo del cinema e della musica. La leggenda si tinge di mistero quando si affrontano temi come mostri, creature leggendarie, creature magiche e fatate, luoghi ed oggetti impossibili di un lontano passato. Un affascinante percorso in cui tutti possono riconoscersi e scoprire, con stupore e curiosità, cosa si nasconde dietro alcune storie che sicuramente abbiamo ascoltato, abbiamo raccontato, e che in qualche modo ci hanno condizionato. Alessandro Piccioni (1979), esperto di comunicazione e media designer, è da sempre ricercatore appassionato del mondo della cultura popolare e del folklore contemporaneo. Il lavoro di ricerca fatto fino agli anni 2000 per la sua tesi di Laurea, dedicata proprio al tema delle leggende metropolitane, diventa nel 2003 uno dei primo siti web italiani dedicati allo studio di questo fenomeno: leggendemetropolitane.net. Dal 2020 ripropone le sue ricerche anche attraverso un Podcast dedicato.
