Etude d' Elude offers a collection of memoirs in poems and prose. If you, the reader, felt drawn to it - it will whisper to your soul... There are many life stories and many definitions, qualities and differentiations to love and life. This collection is offered on the assumption that it would voice and speak to readers of our individual as well as our collective desires. Of one humans' desire for another, and of collective desire for good and purpose in life! The Etude offers a rich and diverse collection of expressions, encapsulating three decades of the authors' life, which in a way form somewhat of an anthology; not because of a variation of writers, but because of the collective impressions left by an arrangement of actors within the play of a life? However you wish to read it, it will allow you to explore the constant yet changing seasons of growth within the times of the human heart.

Philosophy has often been criticized for privileging the abstract; this volume attempts to remedy that situation. Focusing on one of the most concrete of human concerns, food, the editors argue for the existence of a philosophy of food. The collection provides various approaches to the subject matter, offering new readings of a number of texts—religious, philosophical, anthropological, culinary, poetic, and economic. Included are readings ranging from Plato's Phaedo and Verses of Sen-No-Rikyu to Peter Singer's "Becoming a Vegetarian" and Jean-François Revel's Culture and Cuisine. This reader will have particular appeal for philosophers working in social theory, feminist theory, and environmental ethics, and for those working on alternative approaches to such traditional subject areas as epistemology, aesthetics, and metaphysics.

A breathtaking work of political reportage steeped in a deep understanding of the roots of Islamist terrorism. Western tourists are not always aware that the Maldives, a tiny island nation in the Indian Ocean, is a Muslim country, or that the Republic of Maldives is the non-Arab country with the world's highest number of foreign fighters per capita. Despite being considered a luxury tourist destination, the Maldives is in fact one of the most over-populated countries, devastated by poverty, social segregation, heroin, and criminality. Tourists living in one tiny bright enclave, the people in the vast darkness. All the wealth coming from tourism is concentrated in the hands of a few businessmen who collude with the despotic government. The Maldives is a fertile breeding ground for ISIS, which enlists more of its foreign fighters per capita from there than anywhere else. Francesca Borri spent time with them, and with their families and friends, all of whom are drivers, waiters, cleaners in tourist resorts. And she let them speak. As she writes, "While the rest of the world watched the Olympics, everyone here was watching the battle of Aleppo. And rooting for al-Qaeda."

Enlightening the mind through speculation: In the search for a clearer understanding of God as we read through his written Word, there are things we may wonder about. The scripture encourages us to use the mind of God. Even though we cant possibly know all that God knows, I think certain things lead us toward a better understanding of God. God thinks on a level far beyond human comprehension. Yet He is willing to give us the tools to read His mind and begin to think like He thinks! (Mike Bennett). Being sane and being saintly are ultimately the same thing: conforming our thoughts and our lives to the nature of reality, which is ultimately God, His nature and His designs (Peter Kreeft, Practical Theology: Spiritual Direction from Saint Thomas Aquinas). Reasoning is an invigorating aspect of spirituality, which eventually leads to reality. To reason means to make sense of things. In a sense, God is so misunderstood until the world just remains in an overall lost state. If people would take enough time to stop and ponder just how real God is and conform to the plan he intended for his creation, we would have a more peaceful world. I wrote this book because I feel very deeply about how God wanted things to be. But deception coupled with disobedience turned Gods plan into ultimate chaos. Some things people may never think about may be the key to understanding unknown things. So let us consider how God may have wanted his plan to materialize, and at the same time, receive some spiritual enlightenment. Hopefully, this book will inspire more people to read the Bible. For scriptural references, I used the King James Version Bible.

The Idea Of Labour Law written by Guy Davidov and has been published by OUP Oxford this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-01-17 with Law categories.

Labour law is widely considered to be in crisis by scholars of the field. This crisis has an obvious external dimension - labour law is attacked for impeding efficiency, flexibility, and development; vilified for reducing employment and for favouring already well placed employees over less fortunate ones; and discredited for failing to cover the most vulnerable workers and workers in the "informal sector". These are just some of the external challenges to labour law. There is also an internal challenge, as labour lawyers themselves increasingly question whether their discipline is conceptually coherent, relevant to the new empirical realities of the world of work, and normatively salient in the world as we now know it. This book responds to such fundamental challenges by asking the most fundamental questions: What is labour law for? How can it be justified? And what are the normative premises on which reforms should be based? There has been growing interest in such questions in recent years. In this volume the contributors seek to take this body of scholarship seriously and also to move it forward. Its aim is to provide, if not answers which satisfy everyone, intellectually nourishing food for thought for those interested in understanding, explaining and interpreting labour laws - whether they are scholars, practitioners, judges, policy-makers, or workers and employers.
