Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2021 im Fachbereich Romanistik - Lateinamerikanische Philologie, Note: 1,3, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Institut für Romanische Philologie), Veranstaltung: Proseminar "Varietätenlinguistik des Spanischen", Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit soll ausgehend von der externen Sprachgeschichte des alten Inka-Reichs und der darauffolgenden Kolonialepoche den Einfluss des Quechua auf den Wortschatz der spanischen (Regional-)Sprache untersuchen und einen Einblick in die Konsequenzen dieses Sprachkontakts auf Seiten des Spanischen ermöglichen. Ergänzend wird stellenweise kontrastiv auf weitere umliegende Varietäten sowie das Kastilische eingegangen, um die regionale Situation und die lexikalische Vielfalt des Spanischen innersprachlich deutlicher zu veranschaulichen. Zur kulturhistorischen Einordnung wird ein Überblick über den Ursprung und die Entstehung des Sprachkontakts im Rahmen der externen Sprachgeschichte gegeben. Ziel ist es, ein historisches und kulturelles Vorstellungsvermögen für das zu bearbeitende Thema zu entwickeln. Im Folgenden soll dann auf morphologische und lexikalische Eigenschaften des Quechua eingegangen werden, ehe im vierten Kapitel das Hauptaugenmerk auf den lexikalischen Besonderheiten des peruanischen Spanisch liegt. Der kontrastive Kontext zum europäischen Spanisch sowie anderen benachbarten Regionalstandards soll diese verdeutlichen. Schlussendlich soll ein Überblick über die Auswirkungen des Quechua für die Region entstehen, der auch Rückschlüsse auf die Bedeutung der Lexik für Regiolekte des Spanischen insgesamt zulässt. Spanisch ist aktuell mit rund 543 Millionen die Sprache mit den viertmeisten L1- und L2-Sprechern weltweit. Durch ihre Plurizentrik weist sie die diversesten Merkmalsausprägungen auf, welche vor allem auf die verschiedenen in Folge der Kolonialisierung entstandenen Sprachkontakte zurückzuführen sind. So kann neben phonetischen, morphosyntaktischen und vielen anderen linguistischen Unterschieden beispielsweise die Situation aufkommen, dass zwei SprecherInnen mit Spanisch als Muttersprache einen jeweils anderen Signifikanten für ein und dasselbe Signifikat verwenden. Neben dieser Synonymie gibt es noch einige weitere Phänomene, die den spanischen Wortschatz in seiner Gesamtheit erweitern und in erster Linie durch intensiven Sprachkontakt entstanden sind.

Am Anfang soll die Situation vor der Ankunft der spanischen Eroberer auf dem südamerikanischen Subkontinent dargestellt werden. Nachdem die Landung der Iberer im Gebiet der Inka betrachtet wurde, ist der Ursprung, die Entstehung und der Verbreitung des Quechuas Gegenstand der Ausführungen. Die Phänomene des Sprachkontaktes zwischen den beiden Sprachen werden anhand von Beispielen im dritten Punkt erläutert. Am Schluß wird der Begriff "Media Lengua" näher betrachtet. Als 1492 der Genuese Christoph Kolumbus die ersten Gebiete des heutigen Südamerikas entdeckte, befand sich das Inkareich gerade in seiner Blütezeit. Die Nachfolger des berühmten italienischen Eroberers Francisco Pizarro und des Spaniers Hernán Cortés landeten nur wenige Jahre später an den Küsten dieses Kontinentes. Während Cortés das Land südlich von Panama für die spanische Krone eroberte, zog es Pizarro nach Norden. Er ging im Jahre 1531 mit etwa 180 Soldaten, 60 Pferden und mehreren leichten Geschützen bei Tumbes im nördlichen Peru an Land, um das sagenumwobene El Dorado, das Goldene Land, zu finden. Hier traf er auf die Inkakultur, was sich für diese als verheerendes Ereignis herausstellen sollte. So könnte man auch sagen, daß Pizarro Vorreiter und Auslöser des uns hier beschäftigenden Sprachkontaktes zwischen der spanischen Sprache und dem Quechua, der Sprache der Inkas, war. Leider brachten die spanischen Eroberer nicht nur Gutes aus ihrer Heimat mit. Reichte es nicht schon aus, daß durch die von ihnen eingeschleppten Krankheiten Tausende, ja Zehntausende an deren Folgen starben, so töteten sie außerdem aus niederen Beweggründen im Laufe der Zeit weitere Teile der einheimische

Zamenhof, an . ophthalmologist from Bialystock, Poland. In his childhood and youth, he was confronted with several different ethnic groups and consequently, he also got in contact with the different languages of those groups. Because of this circumstance, he realised that multilingualism causes several problems which I will write about in this paper. By creating Esperanto as an international communication medium Zamenhof wanted to overcome the misunderstandings caused by the variety of existing languages. With the help of Esperanto, he wanted to ease global communication. In this paper, I want to give a short overview about the life of Zamenhof and the development of Esperanto. I will then turn towards the Fundamento , which contains the 16 rules the users of Esperanto have to consider. Afterwards, I will look at Esperanto under consideration of the psychological, linguistic and cultural aspects of Esperanto and show some of the advantages and disadvantages it has. It is not the aim of this paper to decide whether Esperanto is fits to the needs of a world language. What I want is to give some food for thoughts for further discussions.

For well over a century, the United Fruit Company (UFCO) has been the most vilified multinational corporation operating in Latin America. Criticism of the UFCO has been widespread, ranging from politicians to consumer activists, and from labor leaders to historians, all portraying it as an overwhelmingly powerful corporation that shaped and often exploited its host countries. In this first history of the UFCO in Colombia, Marcelo Bucheli argues that the UFCO's image as an all-powerful force in determining national politics needs to be reconsidered. Using a previously unexplored source—the internal archives of Colombia's UFCO operation—Bucheli reveals that before 1930, the UFCO worked alongside a business-friendly government that granted it generous concessions and repressed labor unionism. After 1930, however, the country experienced dramatic transformations including growing nationalism, a stronger labor movement, and increasing demands by local elites for higher stakes in the banana export business. In response to these circumstances, the company abandoned production, selling its plantations (and labor conflicts) to local growers, while transforming itself into a marketing company. The shift was endorsed by the company's shareholders and financial analysts, who preferred lower profits with lower risks, and came at a time in which the demand for bananas was decreasing in America. Importantly, Bucheli shows that the effect of foreign direct investment was not unidirectional. Instead, the agency of local actors affected corporate strategy, just as the UFCO also transformed local politics and society.
