This book is about the aesthetics of the tonal music. It therefore deals with sound forms such as consonance, dissonance, tonality, bar, counterpoint or motif. Thereby, it shows that all harmonic, rhythmic, and melodic sound figures are essentially relations in which similar sound components go well together. The whole secret of the musical aesthetics lies in this abstract determination. In this sense, the musical sound forms are systematically built on each other and form an ensemble of eight aesthetic principles, to each of which a chapter of this book is dedicated. The logical progression of these chapters reveals the inner connection between harmony, rhythm, and melody. Musical phenomena that have so far been interpreted differently and controversially are explained and derived in a comprehensible way in this context. The theoretical results of this book are, at the same time, a critique of previously common dogmas in musicology. For example, the prejudice that the difference between consonance and dissonance cannot be objectively grasped clearly contradicts the results of a rational music theory. Nor will the reader find the usual talk about the supposed anachronism or the transience of the tonal music in this book - for good reasons.

Methodenprofile, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ludwig van Beethovens Violinsonate in a-Moll (op. 23) ist die vierte von insgesamt 10 Violinsonaten. Sie erschien im Oktober 1801 - zunächst auch gemeinsam mit der Frühlingssonate in F-Dur, heute op. 24, unter der gemeinsamen Opus-Nummer 23. Die beiden Sonaten waren wohl zunächst auch als Einheit gedacht. Als Indiz für diese intendierte Einheit dient der dialektische Bezug aufeinander, vor allem jener der unterschiedlichen Tonalitäten. In der folgenden Analyse werde ich auf den ersten Satz der Violinsonate op. 23 eingehen. Der in a-Moll stehende Eingangssatz hat eine Sonatenhauptsatzform und besteht aus Exposition (T. 1-71), Durchführung (T. 72-163), Reprise (T. 164-221) und einer Coda (T. 222-252). Die Exposition gliedert sich in fünf Abschnitte - das 1. Thema (T. 1-12), eine erste Überleitung (T. 13--29), das zweite Thema (T. 30-45), eine zweite Überleitung (T. 46-62) sowie eine Schlussgruppe (T. 63-71). Das 1. Thema besteht im Eigentlichen aus einem achttaktigen Satz und einer viertaktigen Fortführung, die eine Verdopplung der Kadenz darstellt. Zum Vordersatz gehört die Phrase von Takt 1-2, welche in den Takten 3-4 im Intervall einer Sekunde aufwärts wiederholt wird. Dieses sequenzierte Motiv aus den ersten beiden Takten wird durch den Klavierdiskant exponiert und ist das Hauptmotiv des ersten Satzes dieser Violinsonate. Es beginnt mit einer punktierten Viertelnote und läuft in der metrischen Struktur des 6/8-Taktes nach der Taktmitte sekundschrittweise abwärts in 4 Achtelnoten bis auf die erste Zählzeit des zweiten Taktes.
