Pero vienen los Reyes Católicos y le dan definitiva organizacion en las Córtes de Toledo de 4480, cuyas leyes for man el título de que nos ocupamos. En la disponen, que se com enga de un prelado, tres caballer°s y ocho nueve letrados; y en las siguientes se les asignan los negoci°s de que deben entender y en que órden, los subal ternos que les han de ayudar, y hasta la casa y horas de de5pacho que debe tener el Con sejo. El rey le visitará los viernes, a fin de examinar por si mismo como se ad ministra la justicia; pero para no distraer a los Conseja ros de sus importantes ocupaciones.se les pre viene que no salgan a recibirla. La visita se mana! De cárceles, la relacion de causas que debia hacerse al rey, que se fallen primer° las primeramente concluidas, a no ser las de las personas miserables que lo serán ante to das, son tambien notables disposiciones; y por fin, se ordena a los grandes y personas de cualquier estado y condicion o edezcan y cumplan las cartas del Consejo como las por el rey libradas.
