Functional Differential Equations written by Constantin Corduneanu and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-04-11 with Mathematics categories.

Features new results and up-to-date advances in modeling and solving differential equations Introducing the various classes of functional differential equations, Functional Differential Equations: Advances and Applications presents the needed tools and topics to study the various classes of functional differential equations and is primarily concerned with the existence, uniqueness, and estimates of solutions to specific problems. The book focuses on the general theory of functional differential equations, provides the requisite mathematical background, and details the qualitative behavior of solutions to functional differential equations. The book addresses problems of stability, particularly for ordinary differential equations in which the theory can provide models for other classes of functional differential equations, and the stability of solutions is useful for the application of results within various fields of science, engineering, and economics. Functional Differential Equations: Advances and Applications also features: • Discussions on the classes of equations that cannot be solved to the highest order derivative, and in turn, addresses existence results and behavior types • Oscillatory motion and solutions that occur in many real-world phenomena as well as in man-made machines • Numerous examples and applications with a specific focus on ordinary differential equations and functional differential equations with finite delay • An appendix that introduces generalized Fourier series and Fourier analysis after periodicity and almost periodicity • An extensive Bibliography with over 550 references that connects the presented concepts to further topical exploration Functional Differential Equations: Advances and Applications is an ideal reference for academics and practitioners in applied mathematics, engineering, economics, and physics. The book is also an appropriate textbook for graduate- and PhD-level courses in applied mathematics, differential and difference equations, differential analysis, and dynamics processes. This proceedings volume covers research in key areas of applied mathematical analysis, and gathers works presented at the international conference “Concord-90,” in honor of the 90th birthday of Professor Constantin Corduneanu (1928-2018). The event – which Professor Corduneanu was able to attend – was held at Ural Federal University in Ekaterinburg, Russia, on July 26-28, 2018. Professor Corduneanu’s research in mathematical analysis spanned nearly seven decades and explored a range of important issues in the field, including studies of global existence, stability problems, and oscillation theory, with special emphasis on various classes of nonlinear equations. He published over two hundred articles and several books, including “Almost Periodic Oscillations and Waves” (Springer, 2009). In this volume the reader will find selected, peer-reviewed articles from seven fields of research – Differential Equations, Optimal Control and Stabilization; Stochastic Methods; Topology and Functions Approximation; Mathematical Biology and Bioinformatics; Mathematical Modeling in Mining; Mathematical Modeling in Economics; and Computer Science and Image Processing – which honor and reflect Professor Corduneanu’s legacy in the fields of oscillation, stability and control theory.

Activity And Sign written by Michael H.G. Hoffmann and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-03-04 with Education categories.

The advancement of a scientific discipline depends not only on the "big heroes" of a discipline, but also on a community’s ability to reflect on what has been done in the past and what should be done in the future. This volume combines perspectives on both. It celebrates the merits of Michael Otte as one of the most important founding fathers of mathematics education by bringing together all the new and fascinating perspectives, created through his career as a bridge builder in the field of interdisciplinary research and cooperation. The perspectives elaborated here are for the greatest part motivated by the impressing variety of Otte’s thoughts; however, the idea is not to look back, but to find out where the research agenda might lead us in the future. This volume provides new sources of knowledge based on Michael Otte’s fundamental insight that understanding the problems of mathematics education – how to teach, how to learn, how to communicate, how to do, and how to represent mathematics – depends on means, mainly philosophical and semiotic, that have to be created first of all, and to be reflected from the perspectives of a multitude of diverse disciplines.

Cooperative game theory is a booming research area with many new developments in the last few years. So, our main purpose when prep- ing the second edition was to incorporate as much of these new dev- opments as possible without changing the structure of the book. First, this o?ered us the opportunity to enhance and expand the treatment of traditional cooperative games, called here crisp games, and, especially, that of multi-choice games, in the idea to make the three parts of the monograph more balanced. Second, we have used the opportunity of a secondeditiontoupdateandenlargethelistofreferencesregardingthe threemodels of cooperative games. Finally, we have bene?ted fromthis opportunity by removing typos and a few less important results from the ?rst edition of the book, and by slightly polishing the English style and the punctuation, for the sake of consistency along the monograph. The main changes are: (1) Chapter 3 contains an additional section, Section 3. 3, on the - erage lexicographic value, which is a recent one-point solution concept de?ned on the class of balanced crisp games. (2) Chapter 4 is new. It o?ers a brief overview on solution c- cepts for crisp games from the point of view of egalitarian criteria, and presents in Section 4. 2 a recent set-valued solution concept based on egalitarian considerations, namely the equal split-o? set. (3)Chapter5isbasicallyanenlargedversionofChapter4ofthe?rst edition because Section 5. 4 dealing with the relation between convex games and clan games with crisp coalitions is new.
