O LiceuOnline tem a satisfação de anunciar seu segundo projeto na grande área das ciências humanas. Trata-se do presente livro, que temos o prazer em publicar logo após o primeiro, lançado meses atrás e intitulado “História ocupando espaços virtuais”. O presente projeto surgiu da idealização dos historiadores Cristian de Paula e Lucius Jacob, a partir da preocupação destes em reunir pesquisas críticas sobre a História do Brasil e, além disso, relacionando-as com o mundo. Sabe-se que a ciência histórica ao mesmo tempo que vem se consolidando enquanto profissão institucionalizada no tempo presente, sobretudo por conta da Lei Nº 14.038 de 17 de agosto de 2020, ao mesmo tempo passa por um momento difícil. As razões são várias: diminuição de aulas no ensino básico, queda de vagas em concursos públicos, cortes de verbas na educação, baixa participação da profissão na imprensa, dentre outras coisas. Ou seja, esta publicação tem a preocupação não só de reunir competentes pesquisas nas diversas áreas das humanidades, mas participar de maneira mais ampla para a publicização, resistência e, principalmente, para a profissionalização de pesquisadores. Afinal, vale lembrar que o primeiro insight do LiceuOnline surgiu da necessidade de problematizar, construir e publicizar pesquisas científicas de qualidade nas diversas áreas das humanidades. Nos dias atuais o invento está materializado em site e em recorrentes projetos. Neste livro, o intuito geral é abarcar uma seleção dos melhores artigos científicos produzidos ao longo do ano de 2022 no site do LiceuOnline. Além do mais, outra intenção é a de reunir e publicar artigos que trabalhassem de forma interdisciplinar vários olhares sobre o Brasil.

O projeto do Liceu Online nasceu no verão de 2019, nas dependências da Faculdade de História da Universidade Federal de Goiás, quando João Paulo Arrais, Rafael Gomes Nogueira Pereira e Cristian de Paula Sales Moreira Junior, então discentes de Mestrado no Programa de Pós-graduação em História, discutiam sobre a situação intelectual no Brasil e a urgência da criação de uma ágora virtual onde fosse possível o debate humanístico longe de polarizações e emotivismos. O nome Liceu é uma homenagem, e inspiração, à escola (???????) fundada pelo filósofo Aristóteles – nosso patrono e uma das principais referências. Tal qual no ginásio de Aristóteles, os editores chefes deste site discutiam, nos intervalos das aulas do PPGH, diversas questões enquanto caminhavam peripateticamente tomando um cafezinho. Com a riqueza e calor das discussões, percebeu-se que era necessário compartilhar o conhecimento das conversas em um ambiente virtual e, então, o site foi inaugurado, um ano depois, no verão de 2020. A intenção do site é publicar artigos e ensaios humanísticos, das mais diversas áreas, que possam contribuir para o esclarecimento e formação perante os acontecimentos de uma sociedade cada vez mais complexa e difícil de entender. Desse modo, tudo aquilo que possa ajudar no entendimento da realidade (seja ela social, filosófica, antropológica ou histórica) é de estima d’O Liceu Online. Agora, o projeto avança e toma uma forma ainda mais comprometida com esse objetivo. Neste livro, o primeiro a ser publicado pelo Liceu, selecionamos artigos especiais, considerados por nós como imprescindíveis para a compreensão de nossa realidade político-intelectual.
