Rușii lipoveni, urmașii creștinilor ortodocși de rit vechi (staroverii), o categorie etnică de origine rusă ce a păstrat și a dezvoltat o rețea socioculturală și lingvistică proprie după ce au fost respinși de Biserica Rusă, au imigrat în spațiul românesc de astăzi, mai precis, în Dobrogea, pe teritoriul cunoscut astăzi ca fiind Delta Dunării, Muntenia, Bucovina, Basarabia în urmă cu aproximativ 300 de ani, după semnarea diferitor înțelegeri cu autoritățile otomane, române și habsburgice. Limba română vorbită de rușii lipoveni din Dobrogea prezintă numeroase particularități morfosintactice interesante, datorate, în mare parte, contactului lingvistic româno-rus. Explicarea acestor particularități se face prin raportare la o serie de fenomene sociolingvistice (vezi conceptele bilingvism, împrumut, code-switching etc.) și prin compararea structurilor ce individualizează această varietate cu cele din limba română standard, limba română veche, limba rusă, limbile romanice și limba română vorbită în Republica Moldova, unde există o situație de contact (română–rusă) asemănătoare.

Lucrarea are un conținut pedagogic, este continuarea primului volum și parte a studiilor ”PRIMA ROMÂNIE” 2017 ! (www.homosacer.org) În ipoteza fantezistă, conform căreia limba română nu a apărut în ceea ce este astăzi teritoriul României, nu poate fi găsit un altul care să justifice o mișcare majoră de populație, ce ar fi cuprins apoi întregul teritoriu actual, inclusiv Republica Moldova. Așadar, româna a fost formată mai degrabă în acest teritoriu. Dar dacă este așa, atunci cum se justifică asemănarea sa de bază cu limba latină și peste această asemănare, cu probabil cea mai dezvoltată limbă din Europa a acelei perioade (270 EN), împrumuturile din limbile slave vorbite în vecinătate, dar mai ales lexicul comun cu limba maghiară ? Să fie aceasta numai un un simplu rezultat al aproprierilor și schimburilor culturale, sau mai degrabă, dacă îmi este permis să afirm aceasta, o disoluție a unei limbii ”primordiale” în imediata vecinătate și mult mai mult decât atât.

Topica subiectului în limba română reprezintă o temă largă, discutată parţial în multe lucrări de gramatică. Volumul de față își propune să realizeze o monografie rezervată exclusiv topicii subiectului în limba română veche, în texte din perioada 1532-1780. Din punctul de vedere al materialului analizat, noutatea este introducerea unor texte neanalizate în lucrările anterioare, și anume Pravila aleasă, Pânea Pruncilor, Documente privitoare la istoria orașului București și Documente Bârlădene. Cartea cuprinde șase capitole. Primele două capitole reprezintă introducerea și partea teoretică a lucrării. Analiza propriu-zisă a corpusului este împărțită în două capitole: topica subiectului în perioada 1532-1640, urmărind topica subiectului în principală, în subordonată, cea a subiectului lexical al formelor nonfinite, repetarea și reluarea subiectului și topica subiectului în cea de-a doua perioadă din limba română veche, și anume 1640-1780, dar cu observația că sunt menționate asemănările și schimbările care apar în comparație cu perioada precedentă. Topicalizarea și dislocarea la stânga a subiectului în limba română veche sunt analizate în capitolul al V-lea. În ultimul capitol se prezintă concluziile lucrării. Concluzia generală este aceea că libertatea de topică este principala caracteristică a textelor vechi, subiectul acceptând orice poziție în ordinea lineară a propoziției.
