¿Me han publicado algunos textos en medios medio reconocidos y he sido medianamente famoso hasta que llega la próxima edición¿. Así es una parte de la presentación que hace de sí mismo Luis Miguel Rivas en éste su primer libro, también nos cuenta que es guionista, copy, periodista empresarial y director de programas en televisión. Los que habitan en estos relatos no son personajes, ¿suenan¿ a seres de carne y hueso comunes y corrientes a los que les suceden algunas cosas también comunes. Y en otras circunstancias salta la liebre de lo irreal pero que, condición necesaria, son absolutamente verosímiles. En un lenguaje engañosamente sencillo y lleno de humor, se cuentan las historias sin énfasis innecesarios y campea una aguda inteligencia cuyo ápice es la ironía como decía algún famoso. La condición humana se pone en entredicho. Se cuestionan la arrogancia que le otorgamos a muchos de nuestros gestos y la infatuada seriedad que mostramos a veces en nuestras emociones. Puedo hacer fácilmente una lista de las cualidades de la prosa de Rivas: la austeridad y limpieza, la profundidad que no necesita ponerse un disfraz solemne, el humor, la ternura, la hijueputez en su justa medida... Pero, más allá de todo, achaco a solidez universal de sus escritos a un fenómeno concreto.
