Pocos son los libros que en sus 350 páginas contengan tal cantidad de fuerza joven y creativa como el que tiene usted entre sus manos. Este libro está compuesto con los mejores relatos presentados al II concurso Los mejores relatos breves juveniles de la provincia de Alicante escritos por nuestros estudiantes de Enseñanza Secundaria Obligatoria. Curso 2006/2007. En él han participado 64 colegios e IES de 31 pueblos de nuestra provincia, obteniendo una miscelánea de estilos y temas que lo convierten en una obra de gran interés, tanto para los alumnos, padres y educadores. Cualquier lector que no haya perdido la capacidad de sorprenderse podrá adentrarse en sus páginas y descubrirá la magia de jóvenes asiduos lectores y su gusto por la palabra escrita. En estos 100 relatos breves aparecen las ilusiones, los sueños, las esperanzas y las preocupaciones de la juventud de la provincia enmarcados, principalmente, en el paisaje urbano que tanto conocen. Así, nos ofrecen su visión de la sociedad a través de estos cuentos o vivencias personales. También podemos destacar las 40 ilustraciones de 28 autores jóvenes de la Escuela de Arte Superior de Diseño de Alicante. Todos los relatos son el fruto del deseo de ganar un concurso literario y ha sido de gran dificultad para el jurado destacar a los premiados de entre todos ellos, ya que contamos con grandes autores merecedores de convertirse algún día en literatos de renombre.

Como en años anteriores, en estos relatos aparecen inquietudes, ilusiones, pensamientos y realidades de la juventud ávida de experiencias nuevas, que representa nuestro futuro y el ánimo con el que participan nos alienta curso tras curso. Un proverbio árabe dice: "Libros, caminos y días dan al hombre sabiduría". Unimos a los relatos las ilustraciones de otros jóvenes estudiantes que utilizan el diseño como medio de expresión, alumnos de la Escuela de Arte Superior de Diseño de Alicante.
