As Christians, we know that we are new creations in Jesus. So we try to act differently, hoping this will make us more like Him. But changing our outward behavior doesn’t change our hearts. Only by God’s grace can we be transformed internally. Renovation of the Heart lays a biblical foundation for understanding what best-selling author Dallas Willard calls the “transformation of the spirit”—a divine process that “brings every element in our being, working from inside out, into harmony with the will of God.” This fresh approach to spiritual growth explains the biblical reasons why Christians need to undergo change in six aspects of life: thought, feeling, will, body, social context, and soul. Willard also outlines a general pattern of transformation in each area, not as a sterile formula but as a practical process that you can follow without the guilt or perfectionism so many Christians wrestle with. Don’t settle for complacency. Accept the challenge Renovation of the Heart offers to become an intentional apprentice of Jesus Christ, changing daily as you walk with Him.

Christians On The Job written by David Goetsch and has been published by Salem Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-01 with Religion categories.

In Matthew 10:16, Christ advised His Apostles to be "wise" and "innocent" as they go out "in the midst of wolves." This book shows Christians how to be wise and innocent as they work among people who sometimes behave like wolves. Temptation, greed, dishonesty, and misguided ambition have always presented challenges for Christians in the workplace. Add secular bias, political correctness, and persecution to the mix, and the modern workplace becomes a foreboding environment for Christians to navigate. This is so much the case, many Christians wonder if it is still possible to earn a living without compromising their faith. Christians on the Job does more than demonstrate that Christians can stand firm when confronted with faith-related dilemmas in the workplace. It also demonstrates how to go about it. Using concepts illustrated with real-life examples, steps to implement in specific situations, life application questions, and resources for going deeper, Dr. Goetsch draws a clear map to ensure Christians can find their way and thrive on the job.

"I want to love my neighbor, but I don't know how." Most of us feel guilty about Christ's command to love our neighbor, but let's be honest--we don't even know most of the people living around us. How can we love people we don't even know? Besides, doesn't it count as "loving our neighbor" when we send money to missionaries and put out yard signs for our church? Are we supposed to just knock on our neighbors' doors and tell them about Jesus? "They'll think I'm weird." How to Love Your Neighbor Without Being Weird helps you overcome fears about getting to know your neighbors and sharing your faith. You'll learn simple, practical ways to get to know your neighbors, using your God-given personality. As you venture out of the comfort of your living room and into the lives of your neighbors, you'll form authentic friendships, create a safer community, and find fulfillment in obeying Christ's #2 command. Loving your neighbor isn't a random command; it's God's perfect plan. "A very timely book for a very isolated culture. Amy Lively offers practical help and guidance in the neglected practice of hospitality."--Dr. Dennis Rainey, president, FamilyLife "This ministry is changing lives. Amy has followed God's leading into an untapped area of people that need Jesus. What a simple idea of reaching out to your neighborhood--the area that God placed you in for His purposes. Thank you for this amazing resource!"--Chrissy Dunham, director of women's ministry at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, Texas "Amy knows God has given each of us a corner of the world to share the love of Jesus and the hope found in His Word. Highly recommend!"--Cindy Bultema, speaker, Bible teacher, and author of Red Hot Faith "What does 'love your neighbor as yourself' really mean? Reading While Black written by Esau McCaulley and has been published by InterVarsity Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-09-01 with Religion categories.

Growing up in the American South, Esau McCaulley knew firsthand the ongoing struggle between despair and hope that marks the lives of some in the African American context. A key element in the fight for hope, he discovered, has long been the practice of Bible reading and interpretation that comes out of traditional Black churches. This ecclesial tradition is often disregarded or viewed with suspicion by much of the wider church and academy, but it has something vital to say. Reading While Black is a personal and scholarly testament to the power and hope of Black biblical interpretation. At a time in which some within the African American community are questioning the place of the Christian faith in the struggle for justice, New Testament scholar McCaulley argues that reading Scripture from the perspective of Black church tradition is invaluable for connecting with a rich faith history and addressing the urgent issues of our times. He advocates for a model of interpretation that involves an ongoing conversation between the collective Black experience and the Bible, in which the particular questions coming out of Black communities are given pride of place and the Bible is given space to respond by affirming, challenging, and, at times, reshaping Black concerns. McCaulley demonstrates this model with studies on how Scripture speaks to topics often overlooked by white interpreters, such as ethnicity, political protest, policing, and slavery. Ultimately McCaulley calls the church to a dynamic theological engagement with Scripture, in which Christians of diverse backgrounds dialogue with their own social location as well as the cultures of others. Reading While Black moves the conversation forward.

What would Jesus say about love if he were alive today? In Awakening Love, you will find out, as Jesus speaks to you directly about his most essential teaching in this channeled book by Gina Lake. Here is an excerpt: "The love that is within me is also within you. Love is your true nature as much as it is mine. That means that it is possible for you to love as I did. This was my message, not that you are sinners and the only possibility for happiness is in heaven. No, I came to earth to show you that it's possible to love your neighbor as yourself and to encourage you to do so. I came to earth, not to bring love and then leave, but to ignite the love within you, to show you that you, too, could be Christed as I was and as I am. It is your destiny to live as love, and I came to show you how to do that. That was and is the purpose of my teachings.""This book is what I would teach about love if I were walking among you today. It takes its organization from particular quotes of mine and others from the Bible, which have come down through time. The quotes this book is built upon are the core teachings I gave then and I offer you today. If they are adhered to, they will change your life and change your world." -Jesus

"Then one of them, who was a lawyer, asked him a question, trying to tempt him, and said, Master, what is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, you will love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with your entire mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like the first, you will love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hangs all of the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:35-40) Loving God is not a difficult task for most believers. The hard part is learning to love our neighbors. Jesus said "offenses must come," but how do we as Christians learn to love others when they have offended or hurt us? We have the fruit of the spirit for tasks such as this. It is said "the root in us produces the fruit in us," but it is the dept of the root that produces the sweetness of the fruit. The Scripture teaches us that the "good ground" brings forth 30, 60, or a 100 fold." With this in mind, how do we nourish a Christ-centered root that travels to the depth of our being, which produces a 100 fold return? Loving our neighbor is only superseded by loving God. John said in 1 John 3:23, "And this is his commandment, That we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandments to do." This should be placed high in our Christian priorities. John also said "how can we love God who we cannot see, if we do not love our brothers who we can see? As Christians, we cannot leave this vital commandment left undone if we have any desire to mature in our faith. "The Second Commandment" guides us in strengthening ourselves in love, compassion, and forgiveness and that our ability to love the unlovely becomes a high priority in our faith.
