Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 2, Bayerische Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Veranstaltung: Ludwig Tieck: Von der Romantik zum Realismus, 5 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Bereits in der Zeit um 1800 hatte Tieck schon den Plan für den Phantasus, einer Sammlung von Märchen, Novellen und Schauspielen, der erst zwölf Jahre später in zwei Abteilungen erscheint. Es ist eine Erinnerung, eine Huldigung an die Zeit im Hause Schlegels, eine der produktivsten in der deutschen Literaturgeschichte. Im Phantasus erscheinen viele alte Werke Tiecks, die bereits in der Sammlung Volksmährchen herausgegeben von Peter Leberecht auftauchen, aber auch neue Erzählungen nimmt er in den Phantasus auf. So sind die Märchen Elfen, Pokal und Liebeszauber eigens für diese Sammlung geschrieben und in einem Brief an seinen Bruder Friedrich schreibt Ludwig Tieck: "Liebeszauber, Pokal und Elfen sind in meiner neuen Manier, ich bin selbst damit zufrieden, am meisten mit dem ersten, in diesem und Pokal dünkt mich viel in unsrer Sprache geleistet." Und tatsächlich ist Liebeszauber eines der grellsten und spektakulärsten Märchen des Tieckschen Erzählwerks. Mit diesem Werk beschreitet Tieck neue Wege in der Märchenerzählung der damaligen Zeit. Zum einen verlegt er die Szenerie von der Natur in die Stadt. Pokal und Liebeszauber werden als die ersten Stadtmärchen der deutschen Literatur bezeichnet. Die Stadtmärchen E. T. A. Hoffmanns und E.A. Poes sind die Erben jener Ludwig Tiecks. Zum anderen verlagert Tieck mit Liebszauber die Gattungsgrenzen. Das Märchenhafte wird zum Novellesken. Der Wendepunkt in der Geschichte teilt nicht nur die Handlung in zwei Hälften sondern spaltet auch ihre Akteure in ihrer Identität und die Bühne auf der sich alles abspielt. Letztendlich ist es sogar der Wendepunkt des Schaffens Ludwig Tiecks, der mit dem Phantasus auf dem Glanzpunkt seiner poetischen Laufbahn angelangt,

Although the influence of Homer on Western literature has long commanded critical attention, little has been written on how various generations of readers have found menaing in his texts. These seven essays explore the ways in which the Illiad and the Odyssey have been read from the time of Homer through the Renaissance. By asking what questions early readers expected the texts to answer and looking at how these expectations changed over time, the authors clarify the position of the Illiad and the Odyssey in the intellectual world of antiqueity while offering historical insight into the nature of reading. The collection surveys the entire field of preserved ancient interpretations of Homer, beginning with the fictional audiences portrayed within the poems themselves, proceedings to readings by Aristotle, the Stoics, and Aristarchus and Crates, and culminating in the spritiualized allegorical reading current among Platonists of the fifth and sixth centuries C.E. The influence of these ancient interpretations is then examined in Byzantium and in the Latin West during the Renaissance.
