If there was ever a witness, besides the blank stares of these pages now fulfilled, I would have turned to them for solace. Doing this work soberly, however, is a feat we seldom risk. Our ego's defend against self-undoing, it has of course invested much of our time and energy into maintaining the appearance of wholeness. Experiencing happiness, joy, contentment, curiosity or satisfaction are just as valuable as experiencing sadness, grief, anger, hurt, confusion and fear. Through creative self-expression, the arts, narrative and poetry, the self is invited to journey towards its own real, raw nature of wholeness. How we conceptualize ourselves as good or bad or somewhere in between, is symptomatic of the work yet to be done; Because we are both. Some of the most powerful transformations alchemize within lonely balanced spaces. We often revel in chaos because we yearn to stay connected to others who are meant to create opposition, contrast, for us. For the purpose of equilibrium. These poems represent glimpses of revelation through disorienting relational experiences. The aim of this collection is to take the reader through raw, penetrating and relatable experiences of that place within that is rarely acknowledged. That place from which healing begins.
