Die Forschung bietet einige Interpretationsansätze, die größtenteils das Gedicht mit Trakls Biographie in Zusammenhang bringen. Dies soll hier vermieden werden. Die Analyse stützt sich ausschließlich auf Informationen, die der Text liefert und soll nicht am Text belegbare Assoziationen möglichst außer Acht lassen. Das Gedicht soll nur als reiner Text gelesen werden, denn [w]enn beispielsweise von vornherein eine Psychose Trakls die Interpretationsgrundlage darstellt, wenn ein psychoanalytischer Interpretationsmaßstab angelegt wird, wenn die Zeit der Unsicherheit im Horizont des ersten Weltkriegs über die Gedichte geblendet wird, lässt sich letztlich nur die Zulässigkeit oder Unzulässigkeit der jeweiligen Verstehensfolie begründen. Mit dem Entstehungsjahr des Gedichts 1914 fällt es in den literaturgeschichtlichen Kontext des Expressionismus. Nach der Gedichtanalyse soll kurz an einigen Hauptmerkmalen des Gedichts geprüft werden, ob Grodek tatsächlich in den Expressionismus einzuordnen ist. Eine Hypothese dazu, ob Trakl als Dichter selbst zu den Expressionisten zählen kann, soll darüber hinaus nicht näherer Gegenstand der Arbeit sein, da hierzu die Analyse und der Vergleich mehrer Gedichte des gesamten Trakl- Werks notwendig sind.

Lucius Burckhardt (1925-2003) taught architectural theory at Kassel University and, in the 1980s, coined the term "Promenadology" or the science of Strollology and developed this into a complex and far-sighted planning and design discipline. Given that "the landscape" as an idea only exists in our heads, Burckhardt's writings (and drawings) are not so much concerned with beautiful vistas, but focus instead on the multi-faceted interaction a simple walk-taker has with his environment.
