Le modèle de la MRV en régime non-linéaire est étudié à la fois des points de vue externe et interne. La connexion des deux modèles est réalisée en développant exactement la fonction coénergie à l'ordre deux, ce qui introduit le calcul des dérivées du potentiel-vecteur par rapport aux courants sources pour estimer les inductances différentielles. Pour disposer d'un modèle externe libéré de cette connexion, la coénergie et ses dérivées sont préalablement cartographiées dans l'espace des courants, pour une machine de géométrie donnée. L’objet est de construire cette carte de la manière la plus économique possible. Les inductances différentielles ont été calculées pour plusieurs structures et géométries de machines, et plusieurs configurations de bobinage, permettant ainsi de préciser la relation magnétique. De par leur principe de fonctionnement, les machines a reluctance variable (mrv) a double denture, peuvent constituer des solutions interessantes pour les entrainements necessitant des fonctionnements a fort couple et faible vitesse. Dans le cas de la conversion de l'energie eolienne en energie electrique, elles peuvent apporter une amelioration en supprimant le multiplicateur de vitesse. Apres avoir effectue une classification succincte des mrv, nous avons adopte pour cette application, une structure synchrone a double denture excitee par des aimants permanents inseres au rotor. Par la suite, en se basant sur les principes de dimensionnement des machines synchrones, nous avons propose une demarche pour effectuer son predimensionnement. Afin d'evaluer ses performances, nous avons effectue la modelisation de la machine en utilisant la methode des elements finis (mef) et le modele du circuit electrique equivalent. En plus de la mef, une approche analytique basee sur le calcul de la permeance d'entrefer et du potentiel scalaire magnetique est proposee pour identifier les parametres du modele du circuit electrique equivalent (inductances et f.e.m.). Apres sa validation, ce modele a ete retenu, pour etudier les performances de l'ensemble generatrice-redresseur a mli dans les conditions reelles de fonctionnement (frequence du convertisseur elevee). Enfin, nous avons aborde l'optimisation des parametres geometriques et magnetiques de la structure pour maximiser sa puissance. Pour cela, nous avons adopte la methode des plans d'experiences conjuguee au calcul de champs. Cette demarche permet de prendre en consideration les conditions reelles de fonctionnement (saturation et fonctionnement dynamique des aimants) ainsi que les interactions entre les differents parametres. L'interet de cette methode a ete mis en evidence. L'etude des performances d'un prototype optimise a montre une amelioration pour tous les modes de fonctionnement.
