Jangan Melupakan Sejarah Pidato Bung Karno pada peringatan 17 Agustus 1966 berjudul Jangan Sekali-kali Melupakan Sejarah atau Jas Merah. Pidato itu syarat dengan ungkapan pentingnya menghormati sejarah dan tidak memanipulasinya. Sejarah adalah bukti perjalanan manusia yang terkait dengan kiprah masa lalunya. Saat ini, lepas dari kekhilafan atau kealpaan, nama Hadratus Syekh Hasyim Asy'ari tidak tercantum dalam Kamus Sejarah Indonesia (KSI). Tak hanya warga Nahdliyyin yang meradang, tapi semua orang yang memiliki nalar sehat ikut larut dalam amarah. KSI disusun oleh kementerian pendidikan dan kebudayaan. Buku ini sudah dirancang sejak tahun 2017. Empat tahun kemudian muncul dan menghebohkan. Tak hanya Kiai Hasyim, sebab banyak ulama di luar NU yang kita juga menghormatinya tak tercantum. Membuat Kamis bukan seperti menulis artikel pendek yang membutuhkan waktu singkat. Membuat Kamis memerlukan perencanaan. Penghimpunan entri yang dikumpulkan dari sebuah tim. Apalagi dalam kamus ini ada nama besar Dr. Taufik Abdullah sejarawan LIPI. Ada Dr. Hilmar Faried yang juga budayawan dan sejarawan. Kita percaya mereka memiliki rasa tanggung jawab intelektual yang tinggi yang tak mungkin membiarkan satu kata pun lepas dari amatannya. Namun, kita juga sadar. Pejabat kita itu memiliki pekerjaan yang menumpuk dengan kegiatan yang sangat padat. Artinya, sebuah proyek yang bukan gagasan mereka karena dibuat oleh menteri atau pejabat sebelumnya, maka seolah ia tak ikutan. Padahal salam alur tugas, pejabat pengganti harus meneruskan pekerjaan pejabat sebelumnya. Tidak bisa lepas tangan meskipun direktorat yang menanganinya sudah dibubarkan.
