Written for people who arent laughing at the joke their own life has become, Making a Joke Out of Ones Life contains over 2,500 jokes and one-liners that lets readers laugh at someone elses for a change. Ken Willidaus unique brand of humour addresses all aspects of life - from birth to death and everything in between. Willidau employs a variety of humorous devices to convey his message. Mostly drugs, alcohol and his brain. Ken Willidaus philosophy is that if youre going to make a joke out of your life you might as well make it one everyone can get a good laugh out of, too. The myriad of one-liners includes dark humour, tongue-in-cheek, a few jokes going around town about you, jest, self-defecating humour, plays on words and more. Book sections revolve around themes such as school, religion, sporting, sex, depression and aging. The chapters chart a route through life that make for interesting reading from innocent beginnings to the bitter end and Willidau hopes youll be just killing yourself laughing by the end of it all, too. Throughout the course of the book, Here Goes Nothing The First Weak, The Deformative Years, Friends and Enemas, Sporting A Black Eye, Proxy Morons and Th-Th-Th-Thats All Fooks are just a few of the given takes on the stages of life youll encounter. Looking at life through Ken Willidaus eyes will give you more appreciation for your own life or, at the very least, give you a reason to laugh through some it, if not exactly at it, right now. Making a Joke Out of Ones Life is a perfect read for one of those dismal days when that lonely bottle of wine just isnt enough and adding some cheese would, at least, make it look like youre a happy party of one, anyway, and not just your own funeral party waiting to happen.

WALL STREET JOURNAL, LOS ANGELES TIMES, AND USA TODAY BESTSELLER • Anyone—even you!—can learn how to harness the power of humor in business (and life), based on the popular class at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. Don’t miss the authors’ TED Talk, “Why great leaders take humor seriously,” online now. “The ultimate guide to using the magical power of funny as a tool for leadership and a force for good.”—Daniel H. Pink, #1 New York Times bestselling author of When and Drive We are living through a period of unprecedented uncertainty and upheaval in both our personal and professional lives. So it should come as a surprise to exactly no one that trust, human connection, and mental well-being are all on the decline. This may seem like no laughing matter. Yet, the research shows that humor and laughter are among the most valuable tools we have at our disposal for strengthening bonds and relationships, diffusing stress and tension, boosting resilience, and performing when the stakes are high. That’s why Jennifer Aaker and Naomi Bagdonas teach the popular course Humor: Serious Business at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where they help some of the world’s most hard-driving, blazer-wearing business minds infuse more humor and levity into their work and lives. In Humor, Seriously, they draw on findings by behavioral scientists, world-class comedians, and inspiring business leaders to reveal how humor works and—more important—how you can use more of it, better. Aaker and Bagdonas unpack the theory and application of humor: what makes something funny, how to mine your life for material, and simple ways to identify and leverage your unique humor style. They show how to use humor to rebuild vital connections; appear more confident, competent, and authentic at work; and foster cultures where levity and creativity can thrive. President Dwight David Eisenhower once said, “A sense of humor is part of the art of leadership, of getting along with people, of getting things done.” If Dwight David Eisenhower, the second least naturally funny president (after Franklin Pierce), thought humor was necessary to win wars, build highways, and warn against the military-industrial complex, then you might consider learning it too.

The book is entitled Life in Idleness. So basically the book is on not wasting our time or our lives on things not serious or trying to make the reader think more about what he says and does in life so he can do things that are productive and not unproductive to himself or society. I wrote it with an aim to be more productive, and only be productive and not idle in our lives, or well get nowhere. If we do things in idleness while our lives stands still and make no gains in the world, time keeps creeping by without us noticing it, and we continue to get older and not realize that we have become unproductive in society. In the end, all we gain in life those that decides to live a life in idleness is time moving by while his or her life stands still being unproductive and useless to society. Thats the reason for the clock picture on the book. The book is telling people to do things that are only productive and meaningful in order for any country or society to gain from your existence. Not doing things that are meaningful or productive to society is a burden to a society because were all born to help each other and be productive and not be unproductive. We have to seek during our lifetime professions or jobs that helps every society to learn and to make every society better either by inventing things to make every persons life better or the like. The main chapter in the book though is my new terms in rhetoric.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From the indie rock sensation known as Japanese Breakfast, an unforgettable memoir about family, food, grief, love, and growing up Korean American—“in losing her mother and cooking to bring her back to life, Zauner became herself” (NPR). • CELEBRATING OVER ONE YEAR ON THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER LIST In this exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner proves herself far more than a dazzling singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With humor and heart, she tells of growing up one of the few Asian American kids at her school in Eugene, Oregon; of struggling with her mother's particular, high expectations of her; of a painful adolescence; of treasured months spent in her grandmother's tiny apartment in Seoul, where she and her mother would bond, late at night, over heaping plates of food. As she grew up, moving to the East Coast for college, finding work in the restaurant industry, and performing gigs with her fledgling band--and meeting the man who would become her husband--her Koreanness began to feel ever more distant, even as she found the life she wanted to live. It was her mother's diagnosis of terminal cancer, when Michelle was twenty-five, that forced a reckoning with her identity and brought her to reclaim the gifts of taste, language, and history her mother had given her. Vivacious and plainspoken, lyrical and honest, Zauner's voice is as radiantly alive on the page as it is onstage. Rich with intimate anecdotes that will resonate widely, and complete with family photos, Crying in H Mart is a book to cherish, share, and reread.
