Imagine getting to live out the adventure of a lifetime, twice. In this follow-up to the immensely popular Making Fake Star Trek, we continue the behind-the-scenes story of making a Star Trek fan film with a new episode, guest starring another Trek alum, the legendary George Takei. This time John and Andy find themselves on separate adventures and in new turmoil as they film "World Enough and Time." Before John can put on the uniform and become young Sulu, a new director comes aboard and decides to shake things up. His first decision? Fire John! Meanwhile, Andy, fresh off his star spotlight as young Chekov, now finds his character reduced to a forgettable cameo. To make the trek back to Port Henry worthwhile, he decides to write and direct an original vignette - a choice loaded with unintended consequences. Get ready for more adventure, more fun, more drama, and more insanity. This is Making More Fake Star Trek. Featuring a foreword by George Takei.

Imagine sitting at the bridge of the Enterprise. Your yellow tunic is crisp, the captain is seated behind you, and your fingers hover over the multi-colored buttons, ready to fly the ship. You look up into a gigantic camera and deliver lines written by DC Fontana. That's when you wonder: is this real Star Trek? Follow two young actors as they fly off on a runaway adventure with the sci-fi franchise they grew up loving. In 2005, Andy Bray and John Lim portrayed Chekov and Sulu in Star Trek: New Voyages, a fan film continuation of the original Star Trek. This is the behind the scenes, crazy, true story of making "To Serve All My Days," a fake Star Trek episode with Trekkies, professionals, Oscar-winners, an Elvis impersonator, and starring a real living legend: Walter Koenig. Will "To Serve All My Days" break out of orbit or stay dry docked? Find out in this rip-roaring voyage that's even more unbelievable than what's on the script. This may be fake Star Trek, but their stories are real and out of this world. Featuring a foreword by Walter Koenig.

**An International Bestseller** Fake news about the past is fake history. Did Hugo Boss design the Nazi uniforms? Did medieval people think the world was flat? Did Napoleon shoot the nose off the Sphinx? *Spoiler Alert* The answer to all those questions is no. With doctored photographs, AI-generated images and false claims about the past circulating in the news and on social media, separating fact from fiction seems harder than ever before. Jo Hedwig Teeuwisse, better known as The Fake History Hunter, is on a one-woman mission to hunt down fake history and reclaim the truth for the rest of us. In this fascinating and illuminating book, Teeuwisse debunks 101 myths so you can correct your friends and family, and arm yourself with the tools to spot and debunk fake history wherever you encounter it.

Fake Physics Spoofs Hoaxes And Fictitious Science written by Andrew May and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-04-12 with Science categories.

People are used to seeing “fake physics” in science fiction – concepts like faster-than-light travel, antigravity and time travel to name a few. The fiction label ought to be a giveaway, but some SF writers – especially those with a background in professional science – are so adept at “technobabble” that it can be difficult to work out what is fake and what is real. To confuse matters further, Isaac Asimov’s 1948 piece about the fictitious time-travelling substance thiotimoline was written, not as a short story, but in the form of a spoof research paper. The boundaries between fact and fiction can also be blurred by physicists themselves - sometimes unintentionally, sometimes with tongue-in-cheek, sometimes to satirize perceived weaknesses in research practices. Examples range from hoaxes aimed at exposing poor editorial standards in academic publications, through “thought experiments” that sound like the plot of a sci-fi movie to April Fools’ jokes. Even the latter may carry a serious message, whether about the sociology of science or poking fun at legitimate but far-out scientific hypotheses. This entertaining book is a joyous romp exploring the whole spectrum of fake physics – from science to fiction and back again.
