Este libro pone su mirada en el Complejo Industrial Militar británico y, a través de él, en la OTAN y sus alianzas con Estados Unidos para sostener el colonialismo en las Islas Malvinas y en el Atlántico Sur. Se trata de un proceso que toma lugar en el marco de un escenario internacional signado por violentas disputas por los bienes comunes y que están ligadas, en lo primordial, a intereses corporativos sobre la región antártica. Dichas disputas no solo se explican por la riqueza natural, petrolera, mineral y pesquera que cobija la región sino, también, por la confluencia de intereses y directrices cívico-militares desplegados para el control de circuitos edificados en favor de la valorización del sistema contemporáneo. Protagonizados por empresas transnacionales y agencias imperiales, estos procesos proponen nuevos desafíos para la geopolítica como campo disciplinar, invitando a sistematizar los aportes brindados por los feminismos y por la teología de la liberación para transformar los conflictos y fortalecer soberanía argentina. Sonia Winer es Licenciada en Ciencia Política y Doctora en Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad de Buenos Aires, donde se desempeña como profesora e investigadora del CONICET y como directora del equipo "Política exterior, geopolítica y defensa" en el IEALC. También realizó una maestría en la Université Toulouse Le Mirail II, Francia. Entre sus obras publicadas, se encuentra el libro La Doctrina de inSeguridad Mundial. Paraguay como laboratorio de Estados Unidos en la región (Prometeo, 2015).
