CROSS PURPOSES is presented as a historical novel. A strong affinity between the writer and his friend, Jesus, is maintained throughout what could be titled "The Fifth Gospel" for the Good News is here presented, through Manaen's memoirs, in a unique way though remaining true to the Scriptural records. Manaen and his princess bride finally choose to become integral members of the Community of Faith. Their pilgrimage provides a panorama of discovery, pathos, joy, intrigue, scholarship, friendship, villainy, love, faith, sorrow, hope and fulfillment.
