The key parameter that needs to be considered when planning the management of resources in futuristic wireless networks is a balanced approach to resource distribution. A balanced approach is necessary to provide an unbiased working environment for the distribution, sharing, allocation, and supply of resources among the devices of the wireless network. Equal resource distribution also maintains balance and stability between the operations of communication systems and thus improves the performance of wireless networks. Managing Resources for Futuristic Wireless Networks is a pivotal reference source that presents research related to the control and management of key parameters of bandwidth, spectrum sensing, channel selection, resource sharing, and task scheduling, which is necessary to ensure the efficient operation of wireless networks. Featuring topics that include vehicular ad-hoc networks, resource management, and the internet of things, this publication is ideal for professionals and researchers working in the field of networking, information and knowledge management, and communication sciences. Moreover, the book will provide insights and support executives concerned with the management of expertise, knowledge, information, and organizational development in different types of work communities and environments.

Resource Management For Heterogeneous Wireless Networks written by Amila Tharaperiya Gamage and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-08-18 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book provides an in-depth discussion on how to efficiently manage resources of heterogeneous wireless networks and how to design resource allocation algorithms to suit real world conditions. Efficiently managing resources of the networks is more crucial now, than ever before, to meet users’ rapidly increasing demand for higher data rates, better quality-of-service (QoS) and seamless coverage. Some of the techniques that can be incorporated within heterogeneous wireless networks to achieve this objective are interworking of the networks, user multi-homing and device-to-device (D2D) communication. Designing resource allocation algorithms to suit real world conditions is also important, as the algorithms should be deployable and perform well in real networks. For example, two of the conditions considered in this book are resource allocation intervals of different networks are different and small cell base stations have limited computational capacity. To address the first condition, resource allocation algorithms for interworking systems are designed to allocate resources of different networks at different time-scales. To address the second condition, resource allocation algorithms are designed to be able to run at cloud computing servers. More of such conditions, algorithms designed to suit these conditions, modeling techniques for various networks and performance analysis of the algorithms are discussed in the book. This book concludes with a discussion on the future research directions on the related fields of study. Advanced-level students focused on communication and networking will use this book as a study guide. Researchers and experts in the fields of networking, converged networks, small-cell networks, resource management, and interference management, as well as consultants working in network planning and optimization and managers, executives and network architects working in the networking industry will also find this book useful as a reference.

Network Hardware And Software written by Mary M Arnold and has been published by Independently Published this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-05-26 with categories.

Network hardware refers to the physical devices and equipment that are used to connect computers, servers, and other devices together to form a network. This includes devices such as routers, switches, hubs, network interface cards, modems, and cables. These devices are responsible for transmitting data packets across the network, managing network traffic, and ensuring that data is delivered to its intended destination. Network software refers to the programs and applications that are used to manage and control the network. This includes operating systems, network protocols, network management software, security software, and other applications that are used to monitor and manage network operations. Network software is responsible for ensuring that the network is functioning properly, detecting and resolving issues, and managing network resources to optimize performance. Together, network hardware and software form the backbone of modern communication and information technology. They enable individuals, organizations, and entire industries to connect and collaborate across vast distances, share data and resources, and access information from anywhere in the world. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, network hardware and software will play an increasingly critical role in shaping the future of technology and society.

Digital networking technologies are empowering organizations to form dynamic networks, generating exceptional or ‘smart’ results. These Smart Business Networks (SBNs) enable individual organizations to compete more effectively and to respond better to a changing world. This idea attracted a diverse group of academic scholars and business professionals to Beijing from May 19-23, 2008, hosted by Tsinghua University. They discovered new ways to manage network resources, operate business processes across a network, create a business operations platform, understand the importance of network position and the smart mastering of technology. Effective managers, they concluded, must have a firm understanding of these fundamental network concepts in order to orchestrate the networks of the future. This book presents the results of an intense and energizing event which resulted in new theoretical foundations and practical insights.

This book provides a timely and comprehensive study of dynamic resource management for network slicing in service-oriented fifth-generation (5G) and beyond core networks. This includes the perspective of developing efficient computation resource provisioning and scheduling solutions to guarantee consistent service performance in terms of end-to-end (E2E) data delivery delay. Network slicing is enabled by the software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) paradigms. For a network slice with a target traffic load, the E2E service delivery is enabled by virtual network function (VNF) placement and traffic routing with static resource allocations. When data traffic enters the network, the traffic load is dynamic and can deviate from the target value, potentially leading to QoS performance degradation and network congestion. Data traffic has dynamics in different time granularities. For example, the traffic statistics (e.g., mean and variance) can be non-stationary and experience significant changes in a coarse time granularity, which are usually predictable. Within a long time duration with stationary traffic statistics, there are traffic dynamics in small timescales, which are usually highly bursty and unpredictable. To provide continuous QoS performance guarantee and ensure efficient and fair operation of the network slices over time, it is essential to develop dynamic resource management schemes for the embedded services in the presence of traffic dynamics during virtual network operation. Queueing theory is used in system modeling, and different techniques including optimization and machine learning are applied to solving the dynamic resource management problems. Based on a simplified M/M/1 queueing model with Poisson traffic arrivals, an optimization model for flow migration is presented to accommodate the large-timescale changes in the average traffic rates with average E2E delay guarantee, while addressing a trade-off between load balancing and flow migration overhead. To overcome the limitations of Poisson traffic model, the authors present a machine learning approach for dynamic VNF resource scaling and migration. The new solution captures the inherent traffic patterns in a real-world traffic trace with non-stationary traffic statistics in large timescale, predicts resource demands for VNF resource scaling, and triggers adaptive VNF migration decision making, to achieve load balancing, migration cost reduction, and resource overloading penalty suppression in the long run. Both supervised and unsupervised machine learning tools are investigated for dynamic resource management. To accommodate the traffic dynamics in small time granularities, the authors present a dynamic VNF scheduling scheme to coordinate the scheduling among VNFs of multiple services, which achieves network utility maximization with delay guarantee for each service. Researchers and graduate students working in the areas of electrical engineering, computing engineering and computer science will find this book useful as a reference or secondary text. Professionals in industry seeking solutions to dynamic resource management for 5G and beyond networks will also want to purchase this book.
