El Manual Tayac?n, fue un documento gu?a elaborado por la Agencia Central de Inteligencia (CIA) de Estados Unidos con instrucciones precisas de acciones pol?ticas, sicol?gicas y armadas, llevadas a cabo por grupos irregulares armados denominados los contras, cuyo objetivo era derrocar la dictadura sandinista de los hermanos Ortega Saavedra en Nicaragua. Las controversiales instrucciones integrales de guerra subversiva, copiadas de las t?cnicas comunistas de guerra revolucionaria, propias de la agresiva medida de dar la misma medicina al r?gimen sandinista prosovi?tico y procubano, caus? esc?ndalo medi?tico dentro y fuera de Estados Unidos. Contras o contra, forma coloquial de identificar a los contrarrevolucionarios nicarag?enses, tambi?n autodenominados como Resistencia Nicarag?ense, es el nombre dado a los grupos de insurgentes financiados por Estados Unidos, que intentaron derrocar la dictadura comunista (1979-1990) del Frente Sandinista de Liberaci?n Nacional (FSLN), que "gobern?" a Nicaragua luego del derrocamiento de la dictadura de Anastasio Somoza en julio de 1979. En las guerras la primera baja es la verdad. Y la lucha de los contras para salvar a Nicaragua del comunismo no fue la excepci?n. La dictadura sandinista escondi? sus atrocidades y acomod? a los contras todo lo malo de la absurda guerra civil. Por su lado, los partidarios de los contras intentaron de minimizar sus acciones violentas, en particular durante la presidencia de Ronald Reagan, pa?s que particip? en una campa?a de propaganda para alterar la opini?n p?blica a favor de los Contras, como se infiere en la lectura del presente manual. El movimiento de la Contra agrup? diferentes organizaciones con objetivos diversos. La «Fuerza Democr?tica de Nicaragua», FDN, fue su facci?n m?s importante. En 1987 pr?cticamente todas las ramas que formaban la Contra se unieron 22.000 combatientes en la «Resistencia Nicarag?ense». Su principal l?der fue el coronel Enrique Berm?dez Varela. Mediante una intensa campa?a de guerra pol?tica antiyanqui, la Uni?n Sovi?tica, que promov?a el terror comunista contra la poblaci?n nicarag?ense, logr? con aliados ideol?gicos demostrar en la Corte Internacional de Justicia, en el Caso Nicaragua que "la participaci?n de Estados Unidos como impulsor del movimiento y su contribuci?n material y financiera a su formaci?n qued? probada por la contra Estados Unidos en 1984" revelando que entrenaba, armaba, financiaba y abastec?a a los Contras, Precisamente, el esc?ndalo Ir?n-Contras se desat? debido a que la administraci?n Reagan vend?a armas de forma ilegal a Ir?n para financiar los rebeldes nicarag?enses. La Agencia Central de Inteligencia de Estados Unidos, o servicio de inteligencia exterior de naturaleza civil del Gobierno federal de los Estados Unidos de Am?rica, es una entidad oficial encargada de recopilar, procesar y analizar informaci?n que afecte la seguridad nacional de Estados Unidos, desde cualquier parte del mundo, mediante una red de agentes profesionales altamente especializados.

The Optical Unconscious is a pointed protest against the official story of modernism and against the critical tradition that attempted to define modern art according to certain sacred commandments and self-fulfilling truths. The account of modernism presented here challenges the vaunted principle of "vision itself." And it is a very different story than we have ever read, not only because its insurgent plot and characters rise from below the calm surface of the known and law-like field of modernist painting, but because the voice is unlike anything we have heard before. Just as the artists of the optical unconscious assaulted the idea of autonomy and visual mastery, Rosalind Krauss abandons the historian's voice of objective detachment and forges a new style of writing in this book: art history that insinuates diary and art theory, and that has the gait and tone of fiction. The Optical Unconscious will be deeply vexing to modernism's standard-bearers, and to readers who have accepted the foundational principles on which their aesthetic is based. Krauss also gives us the story that Alfred Barr, Meyer Shapiro, and Clement Greenberg repressed, the story of a small, disparate group of artists who defied modernism's most cherished self-descriptions, giving rise to an unruly, disruptive force that persistently haunted the field of modernism from the 1920s to the 1950s and continues to disrupt it today. In order to understand why modernism had to repress the optical unconscious, Krauss eavesdrops on Roger Fry in the salons of Bloomsbury, and spies on the toddler John Ruskin as he amuses himself with the patterns of a rug; we find her in the living room of Clement Greenberg as he complains about "smart Jewish girls with their typewriters" in the 1960s, and in colloquy with Michael Fried about Frank Stella's love of baseball. Along the way, there are also narrative encounters with Freud, Jacques Lacan, Georges Bataille, Roger Caillois, Gilles Deleuze, and Jean-François Lyotard. To embody this optical unconscious, Krauss turns to the pages of Max Ernst's collage novels, to Marcel Duchamp's hypnotic Rotoreliefs, to Eva Hesse's luminous sculptures, and to Cy Twombly's, Andy Warhol's, and Robert Morris's scandalous decoding of Jackson Pollock's drip pictures as "Anti-Form." These artists introduced a new set of values into the field of twentieth-century art, offering ready-made images of obsessional fantasy in place of modernism's intentionality and unexamined compulsions.
