Excerpt from Manuale di Letteratura Spagnuola del Dr. Bernardo Sanvisenti Pero, al cabo casi de mi trabajo, salio a luz la bibliografia que Fitzmaurice Kelly puso en la traduccion francesa (1904) de su historia de la literatura espanola. Siendo esta muy copiosa en las citas de libros y no pudiendo yo hacer competencia al grande critico ingles, dada la lastimosa escasez de estudios criticos espanoles que en las bibliotecas de Milan se padece, he mudado de parecer, poniendo a mi bibliografia lindes mas pequenos. Abandonando la ventaja que hubiera conseguido sobre Fitzmaurice en citas de revistas, decidi contentarme con dar al fin de mi obra indicacion de en donde se hallen impresos los textos y, si lo hay, senalar algun estudio importante sobre autores o asuntos. Asi bajo este aspecto, podra tener mi obrita su originalidad, como original es en la division de la materia, en la manera con que la presente, en la concepcion y el juicio de los mas notables hechos literarios, y en todos les casos particulares en que mis indagaciones particulares me inclinan a tener opinion diferente de la de mis predecesores. Pues mi obrecita, bien que sea un resumen de historia literaria, no es resumen de los estudios de otros; y si pudo tomar por guia el muy buen trabajo de Fitzmaurice Kelly no le tomo por pauta.
