Mari-Nieves es una de las zarzuelas del dramaturgo Pedro Muñoz Seca. Siempre fiel a su afilada disección en clave humorística tanto de la sociedad de su época como de los géneros que trataba, el texto se presenta como una sátira de los temas clásicos de la zarzuela: los celos, el amor no correspondido, las intrigas amorosas y el triunfo del amor. Pedro Muñoz Seca es un autor nacido en El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) en 1879 y fallecido en Paracuellos de Jarama (Madrid) en 1936. Se lo consideró en su época uno de los dramaturgos de pluma más afilada y capacidad satírica para diseccionar su sociedad contemporánea. En vida disfrutó de gran predicamento por sus obras teatrales humorísticas, en especial las que ridiculizaban a la II República Española. Murió fusilado en los inicios de la Guerra Civil Española por sus ideas conservadoras, aunque su obra pervive como una de las más señeras del teatro español de principios del siglo XX.

Este trabajo plantea un estudio sistemático de tres de las últimas obras de Fernando Aramburu vinculadas por uno de los temas que desde Cervantes preocupan al novelista: la creación literaria.
