Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Ältere Deutsche Literatur, Mediävistik, Note: 1,0, Technische Universität Dresden (Institut für Germanistik), Veranstaltung: Frühmittelhochdeutsche geistliche Literatur, 16 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Maria - Hülle des Herrn Jesu Christi, das ist nicht gerade eine preisende Aussage für eine Frau, die Anteil "an dem zentralen Ereignis der Heilsgeschichte, an der Erlösung durch die Herabkunft Gottes auf Erden (gehabt hat), zu dem die Jungfrau - Mutter durch ihre auf göttlicher Gnadenwahl beruhende Unvergleichlichkeit wie kein anderer Mensch beigetragen hat." (Kolb, S. 48). Eigentlich müsste der Gottesmutter jene Ehrfurcht und Liebe entgegengebracht werden, die ihrer besonderen Stellung im Heilsplan und Heilsgeschehen entspricht, d.h., die Marienverehrung wäre nicht in Frage zu stellen. Obwohl Maria in der katholischen und in der orthodoxen Kirche heute höchste Verehrung zuteil wird (vgl. Deli-us S. 246-251), wurde ihr im frühen Mittelalter keine besondere Beachtung wie im Sinne des Gottessohnes, geschenkt. So stand eher ihre Jungfräulichkeit, später erst die Gottesmutterschaft im Vordergrund. Zu Ehren Marias wurden Feste wie z.B. Verkündigung, Geburt, Reinigung, Tod und Aufnahme in den Himmel gefeiert. Das Kirchenfest "Maria Verkündigung" war ursprünglich ein Fest des Herrn. Dieses Fest trägt in der katholischen Kirche auch den offiziellen Namen "Verkündigung des Herren". Es ist demnach weniger ein Marienfest, sondern ein Herrenfest, bei dem das Geheimnis der Menschwerdung der zweiten göttlichen Person in Maria im Mittelpunkt steht (vgl. Freytag, S. 84). Diese primäre Stellung Christi konnte ich vor allem bei der Beschäftigung mit dem Vorauer Marienlob (VM) feststellen. Demnach habe ich mir die Frage gestellt, warum Christi eine wesentlich höhere Bedeutung und Preisung als Maria zukommt, obwohl das Gedicht mit Vorauer "Marienlob" überschrieben ist.
