Druckvorlage und Bild sind in ihren Ausstellungen gleichwertige Partner. Die neue Publikation von Martina Geist zeigt zudem neue Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografien, die Interieurszenen aufgreifen und erstmals auch Tassenobjekte. Im Zentrum dieser Publikation stehen nicht zuletzt leuchtende Stillleben von Zitrusfrüchten, die nur auf den ersten Blick gegenständlich wirken. Dann jedoch zeigt sich, wie sehr diese stilllebenartigen Arrangements Fragen nach der Perspektive und der Räumlichkeit aufwerfen. Insofern Linien in den Arbeiten von Martina Geist immer auch Flächen imaginieren und sie dem Betrachter auch die Rück- oder Innenseite der Dinge sichtbar machen. Martina Geists oft großformatige Tafelbilder von Zitrusfrüchten, Gefäßen, Tischen und Stühlen sind an den Gegenstand gebunden, zudem schaffen sie immer auch autonome Räume.

Through biographical narratives, Claiming Home traces how queer migrant women living in Switzerland navigate often contradictory perspectives on sexuality, gender, and nation. Situated between heteronormative and racialized stereotypes of migrant women on the one hand, and the implicitly white figure of the lesbian on the other, queer migrant women are often rendered ›impossible subjects.‹ Claiming Home maps how they negotiate conflicting loyalties in this field and how they, in their own way, claim a sense of belonging and home.
