V obsežnem slovarju je večina najpomembnejših frazemov, ki se uporabljajo v slovenskem knjižnem jeziku, in sicer v vseh njegovih zvrsteh. Sestavljen je iz uvodnega in slovarskega dela. V uvodnem delu je na kratko pojasnjeno, kako je ta slovar nastajal, kako je zasnovan in kaj bomo našli v njem. V Slovarju slovenskih frazemov so frazeološki slovarski sestavki navedeni abecedno po besednih iztočnicah - sestavinah frazemov. Posamezni frazem je v slovarskem sestavku pojasnjen s sedmih v zasnovi pojasnjenih in komentiranih vidikov. Tu je treba poudariti pomembnost zadnjih treh, tj. ponazarjanje rabe frazemov s citati iz klasičnega listkovnega gradiva, po katerem sta bila npr. narejena Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika in Slovenski pravopis, in iz elektronskega besedilnega korpusa Nova beseda ter drugih spletnih, klasičnih in ustnih virov, dalje pojasnjevanje izvora, nastanka frazema ter navajanje pomensko ustreznih ali sorodnih frazemov v drugih evropskih jezikih. Podoben kompleksen pristop k razlaganju živalskih frazemov je avtor pred tem preizkusil v delu Živali v prispodobah 1, 2 (Celje 1996, 1998). Vsak frazem je v slovarskem sestavku zaradi ekonomike razložen samo pri glavni besedni iztočnici, pri drugih besednih iztočnicah pa je navedeno napotilo h glavni iztočnici. S sistemom kazalk je tako možno najti razlago frazema pri glavni iztočnici prek katerekoli polnopomenske sestavine frazema. Katere so te sestavine in kaj je glavna besedna iztočnica, je pojasnjeno v uvodnem delu. Kot projekt je Slovar slovenskih frazemov imel delovni naslov Frazeološki slovar slovenskega jezika. Pod tem naslovom je avtor leta 2003 izdal tudi poskusni zvezek.

Ob branju Naipaulovih romanov The Mystic Masseur in The Mimic Men v angleščini ter njunih prevodov v slovenščino smo opazovali prevodne premike. Ker je roman Posnemovalci v primerjavi z romanom Maser mistik manj zanimiv s stališča prevajalskih izzivov, saj je napisan v standardni angleščini, medtem ko se v Maserju mistiku prepletata standardni in nestandardni jezik, smo večji del analize posvetili slednjemu. Zanimalo nas je, kako se je prevajalka spopadla z nestandardnim jezikom in katere strategije je pri tem uporabila. Ugotovili smo, da je prevod precej dialektalno obarvan, vsebuje namreč elemente ljubljanščine in gorenjščine. Prevodni premiki so se pojavili predvsem na področju glasoslovja in leksike in so posledica podomačitvene strategije prevajanja.

In response to concerns that intensive logging of Alberta's boreal mixedwood forests may result in a change in forest structure and biota, this report describes forest structure and composition of plant and animal communities in young, mature, and old aspen mixedwood stands of fire origin in Alberta. The information in this report serves as a reference against which structure and biota in harvested forests can be compared. The report begins with a general overview of the flora and fauna of the aspen mixedwood forest, and an examination of the rationale and possible consequences of commercial aspen forestry. Subsequent chapters explore relationships between stand age and microclimate, forest structure and floristics, down woody material, understory vegetation, nonvascular species, birds, and mammals. Chapters addressing featured species cover ungulates, bats, and the flying squirrel. The final chapters discuss relationships between the vertebrate community and forest structure, and provide recommendations for aspen mixedwood forest management in Alberta.
