This regulation prescribes policies for preparing and using medical reports and records in accordance with North Atlantic Treaty Organization standardization agreements (NATO STANAGs) 2348 and 2132 and quadripartite standardization agreement (QSTAG) 470. A medical record also provides a means of communication where necessary to fulfill other Army functions (for example, identification of remains).
