Oder “Schlechte Nachrichten sind gute Nachrichten“ gilt häufig als Maxime des Journalismus; zumindest im Hinblick auf eine hohe Auflage und hohe Einschaltquoten. Somit stehen auch terroristische Anschläge in einer Reihe mit Skandalen, Konkursen, Naturkatastrophen und anderen negativen Ereignissen, die die Neugier und Aufmerksamkeit der Rezipienten erregen und ihrem Bedürfnis nach Voyeurismus entgegenkommen (vgl. Schiller 2007). Negative Ereignisse und Krisen besitzen für Journalisten einfach einen hohen Nachrichtenwert, sind somit also eher berichtenswert (vgl. Maier/Stengel 2007). Bereits bei den Olympischen Spielen 1972 in München erregten Terroristen mit der Ermordung israelischer Sportler die mediale Aufmerksamkeit und schafften es somit, die Weltöffentlichkeit für ihr Anliegen zu sensibilisieren. Schon damals standen die Medien häufig in der Kritik den Terroristen mit ihrer Berichterstattung in die Hände zu spielen, in dem sie ihnen die dringend benötigte Aufmerksamkeit zu Teil werden lassen (vgl. Hoffman 2007). Diese mediale Aufmerksamkeit für ein terroristisches Attentat wurde mit den Anschlägen vom 11. September 2001 noch bei weitem übertroffen. Seit diesem Ereignis gab es eine Vielzahl von Studien, die sich mit der medialen Darstellung terroristischer Anschläge, dem Verhältnis von Terroristen und Medien und mit der möglichen Inszenierung von Terrorismus in den Medien beschäftigen. Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es Aussagen darüber zu treffen, inwieweit sich die Berichterstattung der öffentlich-rechtlichen und privaten Fernsehnachrichten in Bezug auf ein terroristisches Ereignis, die Anschläge von Mumbai 2008, unterscheidet. Dafür erfolgt eine Unterteilung in einen theoretischen und einen empirischen Teil.

Using Foucault’s history of discourse, this book examines the relationship between the invention of the printing press and the evolution of concepts regarding childhood and schooling. It is an interdisciplinary study of schooling, childhood, literacy, and protestantism in 16th-century Germany. Luke traces the agenda for the rearing and education of the young as outlined by the Protestant reformers and popularized by the advent of printing. Luther’s print-based religious campaign led to his call for universal public schooling to promote literacy — a fundamental requirement of the new theology. Luke identifies the development of an emergent discourse on childhood in the reformer’s tracts, school ordinances, personal correspondences, conduct, and household and medical guides.
