2045 menjadi tahun yang spesial karena di saat itulah umur Indonesia genap seabad. Kehadiran buku ini tentu dalam rangka mendukung tercapainya Indonesia Emas di tahun tersebut. Persiapan sedini mungkin akan lebih baik, dan kontribusi dari berbagai pihak adalah sebuah keniscayaan. Buku ini menjadi salah satu sumbangan mahasiswa selaku akademisi untuk mencapai cita-cita mulia ini. Walaupun kami menimba ilmu di negara tetangga, semangat kami untuk memikirkan kemajuan bangsa tak 'kan pernah surut. Gagasan ditulisnya buku ini berawal dari salah satu cita-cita Ketua Umum PPI Malaysia 2020-2021 Muhammad Haidar Mohalisi yang ingin mengangkat kajian tentang Indonesia Emas 2045 dan dituangkan dalam bentuk cetak. Kemudian, bertepatan juga dengan adanya program kerja dari Departemen Penelitian dan Kajian Strategis yang Bernama Warta Penkastrat, penulisan buku ini menjadi bentuk final dari program kerja tersebut. Warta Penkastrat pada awalnya adalah program yang mewadahi anggota departemen penkastrat dan anggota PPI Malaysia untuk menulis artikel terkait isu-isu strategis atau juga isu terkini yang relevan dan ditempatkan pada kolom ‘Sudut Penkastrat’ di laman web PPI Malaysia. Namun, karena beberapa pertimbangan, program kerja ini akhirnya disempurnakan dengan mengundang kontributorkontributor untuk menulis bersama dengan satu topik utama, yaitu ‘Menuju Indonesia Emas 2045’. Penulisan buku ini menyesuaikan dengan dokumen Visi Indonesia Emas 2045 yang bisa diakses pada laman web Kementerian PPN/BAPPENAS. Terdapat 4 pilar di dalamnya, yaitu Pembangunan Manusia dan Penguasaan IPTEK, Pembangunan Ekonomi Berkelanjutan, Pemerataan Pembangunan, serta Pemantapan Ketahanan Nasional dan Tata Kelola Pemerintahan. Keempat pilar ini yang akan menjadi elemen penting agar Indonesia Emas di umur Indonesia yang ke-100 dapat tercapai. Tiap pilarnya memiliki sub-topik yang memang, bagi saya, sangat penting sekali untuk diangkat dengan berbagai sudut pandang, bisa dengan kritik maupun diskusi-diskusi ilmiah. Di buku ini, tulisan-tulisan dari para kontributor dibagi dalam 4 bab, menyesuaikan dengan pilar-pilar tersebut. Tulisan-tulisan yang akan Anda nikmati di buku ini sangatlah beragam dengan variasi cara penyampaian yang berbeda-beda. Ada tulisan serius, ada yang santai. Walaupun demikian, isinya tetap berusaha memberikan diskursus, ide, solusi, bahkan kritik. Semua ini demi memberikan sumbangsih untuk tercapainya Indonesia Emas 2045.

A Dictionary of the Kedang Language presents the first extensive published record of an Austronesian language on the remote Eastern Indonesian island of Lembata.
