Buku ini secara objektif menyajikan ragam perdebatan ulama tentang hadis dhaif yang menjadi polemik dalam bidang hadis. Bagi kelompok Salafi-Wahabi, hadis dhaif dianggap tidak bernilai sama sekali. Salah satu tema yang menjadi polemik dalam bidang hadis hingga saat ini adalah kajian tentang hadis dhaif. Memang sejumlah amaliah Ahlusunah wal-Jamaah didasarkan hadis-hadis dhaif, karena para ulama Ahlusunah wal-Jamaah telah bersepakat bahwa hadis, betapa pun dhaif, ia tetaplah hadis, sehingga kita tidak boleh mengabaikannya. Namun, kita tetap menggunakan hadis itu sebagai tuntunan dalam menjalankan agama, tentu dengan menempatkannya pada proporsinya yang sesuai secara ilmiah, yaitu digunakan dalam ranah fada’ilul-a‘mal dan yang semacamnya. Namun sayang, bagi sebagian kalangan, yakni kelompok Salafi-Wahabi, hadis dhaif dianggap tidak bernilai sama sekali. Mereka menilai bahwa hadis dhaif tidak bisa dibuat hujah, di mana posisi hadis dhaif mereka setarakan dengan hadis palsu, sehingga mereka mencampakkan hadis dhaif ke tong sampah yang sama dengan hadis palsu. Hal ini terlihat jelas dalam karya seorang ulama Wahabi, al-Albani, yang menulis ensiklopedia hadis-hadis dhaif dan hadis-hadis palsu berjudul Silsilatul-Ahadis ad-Da‘ifah wal-Maudu‘ah. Atas dasar inilah mereka kemudian membuang kitab-kitab fikih produk para ulama yang menurut mereka tidak sesuai dengan hadis sahih. Mereka mengampanyekan al-Fiqhul-Musaffa atau fikih yang bersih dari hadis-hadis selain hadis sahih. Lebih dari itu, para ulama yang menerima dan menggunakan hadis dhaif mereka caci maki dan mereka opinikan sebagai orang buruk. Kitab Ihya’ Ulumuddin, karya al-Imam Muhammad Abu Hamid al-Ghazali, sudah dipelajari dan dikaji sejak dulu, ratusan tahun yang silam. Pujian terhadap karya besar ini sudah banyak, seiring kritik yang muncul, terutama soal kualitas hadits yang terdapat di dalamnya. Tentu saja, dengan beragam pembelaan yang muncul kemudian dari ulama otoritatif. Perbincangan posisi hadis dhaif dalam syariah memang berlangsung lama, nahkan sejak awal kajian hadits muncul. Seiring dengan itu, muncul pula beberapa pandangan yang pada tiitk poinnya adalah khilaf; ada yang menolak total hadis dhaif, ada yang menerima dan ada pula yang memilah lagi. Tak bisa memaksakan satu pandangan, karena memang masuk ranah khilaf. Otentikasi hadis melalui metodologi yang dikembangkan ulama, seperti takhrij al-Hadits dan al-Jarh wa at-Ta’dil memang memiliki peran penting dalam menyortir penyusupan non hadis. Seperti dengan hasilnya, metodologi yang digunakan pun bisa berbeda diantara kritikus hadis. Kita temukan istilah Ta’arudh al-Jarh wa at-Ta’dil, berikut ragam klasifikasi lafal pada Jarh dan Ta’dil. Penyimpanannya pun, akan ditemukan berbeda, hingga satu hadis ada yang dihukumi Dhaif ada pula yang menyebut Hasan atau bahkan Shahih. Hal inilah juga terjadi pada hadis-hadis dalam kitab Ihya’ Ulumiddin, karya Imam al-Ghazali. Nah, buku ini hadir secara objektif menyajikan ragam perdebatan ulama itu, yang titik poinnya tak sepenuhnya seperti yang dituduhkan selama ini. Mungkin kita pernah merasa tidak nyaman saat amalan yang biasa kita lakukan tiba-tiba disalahkan karena landasan hadisnya dinilai daif. Terlebih saat ada bukti nyata bahwa amalan tersebut memang berlandaskan hadis daif. Lantas apa yang mesti kita perbuat? Haruskah kita meninggalkan amalan tersebut? Itulah perlunya kita merujuk pada buku ini agar memahami bagaimana menyikapi hadis daif menurut para ulama.

Chomsky proposes a reformulation of the theory of transformational generative grammar that takes recent developments in the descriptive analysis of particular languages into account. Beginning in the mid-fifties and emanating largely form MIT, an approach was developed to linguistic theory and to the study of the structure of particular languages that diverges in many respects from modern linguistics. Although this approach is connected to the traditional study of languages, it differs enough in its specific conclusions about the structure and in its specific conclusions about the structure of language to warrant a name, "generative grammar." Various deficiencies have been discovered in the first attempts to formulate a theory of transformational generative grammar and in the descriptive analysis of particular languages that motivated these formulations. At the same time, it has become apparent that these formulations can be extended and deepened.The major purpose of this book is to review these developments and to propose a reformulation of the theory of transformational generative grammar that takes them into account. The emphasis in this study is syntax; semantic and phonological aspects of the language structure are discussed only insofar as they bear on syntactic theory.
