Sufi (shufiyy) adalah sebutan (gelar) untuk orang yang fokus menjalankan Islam dengan aksentuasi zuhud (asketisme) dan ibadah mahdhah terutama wirid/dzikir dan shalat, tanpa mengesampingkan amal lainnya. Sufi kerap distigmatisasi sebagai kelompok sesat dalam Islam hanya karena adanya oknum-oknum yang sesat tapi mengklaim sebagai sufi. Pada hakekatnya, semua kelompok Islam (jama'ah min al-muslimin) pasti diwarnai oleh oknum, baik Salafi-Wahabi, Jama'ah Tabligh, Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimun, Syi'ah, maupun Asy'ari. Duduk perkara vonis sesat berasal dari su`uzh-zhann akibat tidak duduk bersama untuk mencari kesepahaman mencapai kesepakatan untuk tidak sepakat. Bulan Ramadan merupakan nikmat yang sangat dahsyat, karena hanya diberikan kepada Nabi Muhammad saw. dan umatnya. Pada bulan ini seluruh umat Islam yang mampu dan tidak berhalangan diwajibkan berpuasa. Demikian firman Allah swt. pada QS. al-Baqarah/2:183, يُّهَا ا ذ لَِّينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ال صِيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عََلَ ا ذ لَِّينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ َ يَاأ لَعَلذكُمْ تَ ذ تقُو ن Terjemahnya: Hai orang-orang yang beriman, diwajibkan atas kamu berpuasa sebagaimana diwajibkan atas orang-orang sebelum kamu, agar kamu bertakwa. Untuk mengetahui puasa yang diwajibkan oleh ayat 183 tersebut, perlu membaca lanjutannya yakni ayat 184 dan khususnya ayat 185. Setelah membaca tiga ayat tersebut secara runut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa yang dimaksud adalah puasa pada bulan Ramadan. Puasa bulan Ramadan merupakan anugerah yang tiada terkira, karena di dalamnya memiliki ragam keberkahan, ampunan dan kasih sayang Tuhan yang berlipat ganda sampai batas yang tidak ditentukan. Oleh karenanya perlu disyukuri dengan memanfaatkannya semaksimal mungkin agar semua yang dijanjikan Allah dan Rasul-Nya dapat digapai dengan hasil yang maksimal pula.

Buku ini berisi analisis terhadap penafsiran Fakhruddin Qabawah terkait ayat-ayat yang berkaitan dengan masalah sosial.
