Do you find that you're always the one that doesn't laugh at stupid jokes? Are you the type of person that stands on the outside of a crowd, listening to the conversations taking place and find you're laughing to yourself at how ridiculous they sound? Do you get angry and/or frustrated by stupidity and find it hard to restrain yourself from blurting out comments about their IQ being lower than the calorie intake of a vegan? Do you hate it when people use stupid sayings that do not make sense, but yet use them in every other sentence? Do you find women to be annoying, irrational, emotional wrecks that aren't funny? Welcome to the world of an angry man. This book will take you on a journey to explore aspects of a man's life and articulate them in such a way that will 'go too far'. As for me, I am alive indeed and living in a mountainous town in Abuja. Every day, I hear the same old story from my wife. " Nothing is right here in this stinking shit-hole!" My wife feels trapped here. "Is this what you dreamed of in Africa?" She nags at me night and day whenever the slightest thing goes wrong -no water or no electricity or a broken down washing machine. "It is decrepit!" I don't even know; what is the meaning of the word 'decrepit'? I asked her to find the meaning for me in her dictionary. I've heard the word too often. It even invades my dreams. A female voice from a female I hardly know screams at me: "You are decrepit!" She found it in the adult dictionary and read it to me: "Worn out by age or long use." She read on, " 'decrepitude, noun, a state of being worn out.' " That is the way my wife describes our life now! I was horrified and speechless. I know money is always a problem, but things are not that bad, just look at the others who have nothing! Even our dog, Rosa, refuses to eat her leading brand canned food bought in the new supermarket. She prefers my wife's mouth-ripping, spicy fish stews. Bloody decrepit dog! Decrepit bitch. She is also a decrepit. Just wait till I see her in my nightmares again, I'll show her 'decrepit'!

You will be both amazed and delighted sometimes laughing and sometimes nearly crying as you find out the answers to those questions. Discover how a farm boy from the bayous of southern Arkansas left home to go to the big city, Chicago, and become a major figure in post-World War II science fiction fandom. In his own words, Earl Kemp tells the story of how he discovered fandom, quickly becoming the President of the University of Chicago Science Fiction Club. Find out how he met William Lawrence Hamling, once editor of the Ziff-Davis pulp magazine, Fantastic Adventures, now a publisher in his own right with his science fiction magazine, Imagination. Their friendship would blossom into one of the most important partnerships in the history of publishing when they founded and built the Greenleaf adult book empire, which at its zenith was the fifth-largest paperback publishing company in the U.S., right behind Bantam. Along the way Earl Kemp met and knew everyone of in the field of science fiction, using his contacts to publish his Hugo award winning fanzine, Who Killed Science Fiction? in 1961. As he charmed his way into the hearts of his fellow fans, they even made a movie about him. Quite a feat for a farm boy! And if that was not enough, Earl Kemp founded Advent:Publishers, the oldest science fiction specialty publisher still owned and run by the original members, outlasting all the others from the Golden Age of Science Fiction...all of them, including Fantasy Press, Gnome Press, Shasta Publishers, and even the much celebrated Arkham House. You will be fascinated as Earl Kemp tells all about the transition from the science fiction world to the adult book world, as he became the Fourth King of Pornography, and the dire consequences that befell the two partners as the federal government took them to task for illustrating the Presidential Commission's Report on Pornography and Obscenity. Their battle for Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech would take them to the US Supreme Court...and then to prison. Undaunted by the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, you will read how Earl Kemp dealt with all of these events with pluck, humor, and quite a bit of wit, even as the government tore his entire life apart, destroying his family, his fortune, and his career. But that was not the end of his adventures, merely another one in his long life as he rose from those bitter ashes like a Phoenix only to be "discovered" by yet another generation, finally finding his rightful place as a Hero in the fight for the most important freedoms that all men strive to obtain. As you discover the answers to why Earl Kemp is an angry man you will most certainly be entertained, amused, and inspired by his many and varied adventures and exploits. 8 ½ x 11 inches softcover, profusely Illustrated, 268 pages

Anger Is My Middle Name written by Lisbeth Zornig Andersen and has been published by AmazonCrossing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-03 with Economists categories.

An empowering memoir of resilience and redemption, and the rage that helped a girl escape the darkness of a harrowing childhood. Born to a violently dysfunctional home in working-class Denmark, Lisbeth Zornig Andersen and her three older brothers were bounced between foster care and state-run institutions, then back again to their chemically dependent mother and sadistic stepfather. For Lisbeth, it was a childhood without perimeters. It was blighted by poverty, sexual abuse, neglect, betrayal, and further victimization by the broken Danish social services system that forced Lisbeth to live where and how it saw fit. Coming of age with a myriad of fears and emotional disorders, Lisbeth had three things that would become driving forces in her life: she was extraordinarily bright, extremely willful, and exceptionally angry. From hell to liberation, this is Lisbeth's emotional and galvanizing memoir told in two voices: that of a young girl who was unwanted, challenged, and defiant, and that of a woman who channeled her rage into a positive force as a passionate advocate for children's rights. Whatever darkness defines the past, it can be used to change the future. Lisbeth's heart-wrenching and ultimately uplifting journey is proof.

A veteran of some of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War, Ambrose Bierce went on to become one of the darkest and most death haunted of American writers, the blackest of black humorists. This volume gathers the most celebrated and significant of Bierce's writings. In the Midst of Life (Tales of Soldiers and Civilians), his collection of short fiction about the Civil War, which includes the masterpieces "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" and "Chickamauga," is suffused with a fiercely ironic sense of the horror and randomness of war. Can Such Things Be? brings together "The Death of Halpin Frayser," "The Damned Thing," "The Moonlit Road," and other tales of terror that make Bierce the genre's most significant American practitioner between Poe and Lovecraft. The Devil's Dictionary, the brilliant lexicon of subversively cynical definitions on which Bierce worked for decades, displays to the full his corrosive wit. In Bits of Autobiography, the series of memoirs that includes the memorable "What I Saw of Shiloh," he recreates his experiences in the war and its aftermath. The volume is rounded out with a selection of his best uncollected stories. Acclaimed Bierce scholar S. T. Joshi provides detailed notes and a newly researched chronology of Bierce's life and mysterious disappearance. LIBRARY OF AMERICA is an independent nonprofit cultural organization founded in 1979 to preserve our nation’s literary heritage by publishing, and keeping permanently in print, America’s best and most significant writing.
